The highlight will be the presentation of new metering technology for the Internet of Things.
Zenner will be presenting its smart solutions for remote meter reading for the first time at the European Utility Week from November 15 to 17, 2016 in Barcelona at Stand 3C61. The highlight will be the presentation of new technology for the Internet of Things.
The topics of smart metering and the digitalisation of the energy and water industries are two of the most important main topics at the European Utility Week. Systems technology and smart metering solutions are also increasingly at the forefront at Zenner. This is why it was an appropriate decision to take part at the European Utility Week for the first time.
Zenner has already realised the mobile wireless m-bus radio system OPERA, which was developed especially for the European market in accordance with the norm EN 13757 and the European Standard OMS (Open Metering System), in numerous national and international wireless projects in recent years.
A new development that could revolutionise the entire sector of remote meter reading in the near future is the Internet of Things. Consumption data for water meters, heat meters, gas or energy meters for an entire city can be read in minutes with the Internet of Things and processed digitally using corresponding IT solutions. Zenner also offers specialist solutions for remote meter reading via the Internet of Things.
Zenner is relying on two communications standards for the development of smart meters and communication modules for the Internet of Things. On one hand on the solution by Sigfox and on the other on the increasingly internationally established communications standard LoRaWAN. In future Zenner will offer water meter radio modules for the Internet of Things with different modules for use in LoRaWAN and Sigfox networks.
Besides the remote reading of meter data the Internet of Things also allows the use of numerous further applications for industry, public administration and citizens. There are expected to be approximately 25 billion networked devices in the world by 2020 that exchange data via so-called low energy networks with a long range (LPWAN). These devices include water, heat, gas and energy meters, smart watches, household devices and machines that constantly send small quantities of data.
The presentation of the LPWAN technology at the European Utility Week 2016 is a further step by Zenner in order to become included in the line-up of leading smart metering providers on the international market.
European Utility Week is one of the most important international trade fairs for smart energy technology, smart metering systems and smart home solutions with more than 600 exhibitors and more than 10,000 visitors. After having taken place in Amsterdam in 2013 and Vienna in 2015 the European Utility Week will take place this time from November 15 to 17, 2016 in Barcelona. Zenner will be exhibiting at Stand no. 3C61 at the European Utility Week.
