Mercedes-Benz bringt MOST Netzwerktechnologie in neuer M-Klasse zum Einsatz

Karlsruhe – 12. September 2011 – SMSC (NASDAQ: SMSC), ein führendes Halbleiterunternehmen welches hochwertige Netzwerklösungen anbietet, gibt bekannt, dass die Netzwerktechnologie Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST®), der Standard für Infotainment-Netzwerke mit hoher Bandbreite in Fahrzeugen, von Daimler als Backbone des Infotainmentsystems in der neuen Mercedes-Benz M-Klasse eingesetzt wird. Der Einsatz von MOST in der M-Klasse, der mit dem vorherigen Modell begann, geht nun in die zweite Runde.

Daimler hat ein komplettes Set an Infotainment-Komponenten für die neue M-Klasse im Programm. Auf der Instrumententafel in der Fahrzeugmitte dominiert ein großer farbiger Zentralbildschirm der für Infotainment, Navigation und Kommunikation verwendet wird. Die MOST Technologie kommt zum Einsatz, um das breite Spektrum an Infotainment-Komponenten in diesem Premium-SUV zu vernetzen.

Die Multimedia Netzwerktechnologie MOST ermöglicht anspruchsvolles Infotainment im Fahrzeug durch Vernetzung aller im Auto verteilten Multimedia-Komponenten. Beispielsweise können CD-Wechsler, Radio, GPS, Mobiltelefon, DVD-Spieler und Media-Schnittstellen Signale in dieses effiziente Ring-Netzwerk einspeisen. Die Daten werden störungsfrei digital an den Verstärker sowie Monitore weitergeleitet.
