iran agrofood 2014: 831 exhibitors of 25 countries excited about future prospects

The exhibitors of iran agrofood 2014 reported about increased trade activities and they agreed, that once the sanctions are lifted a very lively Iran business is expected to return. The 21st edition of iran agrofood was held as iran agro, iran food + bev tec & iran food + hospitality from 30 May to 02 June 2014 at the Tehran International Fairgrounds. Organized by fairtrade and Palar Samaneh, 831 market and technology leaders (+19%) from 25 countries exhibited in 28 halls.

The exhibitors of iran agrofood 2014 recognised a more positive and buoyant business mood of their clients. The exhibition closed on a very positive note as lots of machinery and equipment could be sold right off the stand. Now their expectations and hopes were expressed, that sanctions would be facilitated or even revoked in the months to come. The following statements of representatives from embassies, international associations and companies give prove that more Business is in the air.

Mr Daniel Bernbeck, managing director of AHK Iran, the German-Iranian Chamber of Commerce and Industry summed it up concisely: „In case the agreement between Iran on one side and E 3+3 (USA, Russia, China, France, UK and Germany) on the other will be signed by the end of July we will see economic sanctions to be lifted step by step. This would surely lead to sharply increased trading activities already in the last quarter of 2014 to be followed by rising investments also in light and heavy industry and all other sectors of the economy by the first quarter of 2015.“

„Thailand – kitchen of the world, this is exactly what we are displaying at the show. Agricultural products and food of high quality are our biggest export products“ outline the Thai Ambassador A. Sukhasvasti (left) and his Minister Counsellor Mr S. Chankao. „We have also got excellent halal products to serve the Iranian market. The relations between our two countries go back a long time since we have maintained business relationships for more than 500 years. The participation at iran food + hospitality 2014 perfectly fits in the export strategy of our government: Thailand wants to return to its old strength in Iran. Our exhibiting companies want to familiarize the Iranian people with Thai food.“

The target of the participation of KHS in the 21st iran food + bev tec is to meet existing and new customers“, says Mr Peter Gänz, sales manager Africa & Middle East with KHS. „We hope that the Iranian market will re-open and the embargo will be lifted. Most of our Iranian customers are also exhibiting at iran agrofood. In this way, this exhibition gives us great opportunities to meet them all.“

Florian de Saint Vincent, Area Manager Africa and Middle East with the French association adepta summed up: „adepta represents the entire food processing and packing industry in France, 230 companies in total. The Iranian market welcomes high tec innovations. The participation in iran agrofood 2014 is very important for the French companies, because now it is the right moment to be in Iran and we hope that the sanctions will be lifted soon“.

The event was organised under the auspices of the Iranian Ministry of Jihad-e-Agriculture and the Ministry of Industry, Mine and Trade.

To support the regular dialogue between exhibitors and visitors the organisers established an interactive industry portal that allows exhibitors and visitors to connect before, during and after the event.
