The new TestSPICE 3.33 will enter the world of international standards as ISO-Norm.
Frankfurt, May 5, 2015: At this year’s planning meeting of the TestSPICE SIG (Special Interest Group) important tasks were launched. Hereby, two vital issues – the development of the versions TestSPICE 3.33 and the TestSPICE 4.0 are brought onto the roadmap.
Planning Content
First, the plan foresees to realize the TestSPICE 3.33 Version. This version will be coordinated with the new ISO standard series 33000ff concerning the SPICE content and should enter – as ISO standard – the world of international standards. This would be the next important milestone for TestSPICE: Besides the INTACS, the ISO would acknowledge the TestSPICE as a norm for test process improvement models and techniques.
The TestSPICE 4.0 will be the successor of the TestSPICE 3.0 with significant improvements. According to that, the agile testing subject will be extended within the TestSPICE. Compared to TestSPICE 3.0 the agile topic in the TestSPICE 4.0 will gain significantly more importance. Within the planning session, the test automation has been identified as a key development area, too.
The TestSPICE Steering Committee confirmed to improve the visibility of the TestSPICE SIG: TestSPICE will introduce the standard and the respective changes or evolutions on the various media channels in order to fulfil the increased information demands of the market. In the first step, therefore, the Steering Committee will develop a marketing concept to control each activity. For example, books with TestSPICE content are planned to release within the next years.

Advantages of TestSPICE
The big advantage of TestSPICE – compared to other test process improvement models and techniques – lies in the detailed and differentiated view of test processes combined with the proven framework of ISO / IEC 15504. Besides of that, the model evaluation guidelines contains a standardized assessment process and assessor training.
