Career events with SKIDATA in autumn 2017

Meet SKIDATA at the career events in autumn

Career events are a great opportunity for young professionals and people re-entering the workforce to meet and talk to potential employers. Ultimately, there is more to every applicant and every company than meets the eye. For this reason, SKIDATA travels through Austria to give graduates and high potentials a closer look at the company.

It doesn“t do anyone justice to look at a person or a company only on paper. A real meeting is often much more telling than a job application or brochure. Career fairs are therefore an excellent opportunity for both sides that can open doors and make decisions easier. SKIDATA is again proud to participate in numerous job fairs and career events in Austria in the fall of 2017 to meet enthusiastic recruits and share information about careers at SKIDATA.

SKIDATA boasts a wide range of departments including finance, sales and communications. At the same time, the global leader in access and visitor management also has many career opportunities in IT and technology. No matter if you are in software or hardware development, mechatronics, electronics, accounting or controlling – SKIDATA offers exciting possibilities with international perspectives in every area. Thanks to continued growth, SKIDATA hires new employees in Austria and around the globe every year.
„At career events, we seize the opportunity to network and introduce our company and work at SKIDATA. Our corporate culture is best conveyed through personal discussions,“ says Barbara, recruiting specialist at SKIDATA. „After all, it has to work for both sides, ideally for a long time.“

SKIDATA career events in fall 2017
Starting in October, SKIDATA will once again head on their tour of universities, career fairs and informational career events. The „Karriereforum Lehre“ („Apprenticeship Career Forum“) took place in Salzburg this September and the following events are coming up quickly:
-October 19, 2017: NEXT career fair at the University of Applied Sciences Upper Austria, Hagenberg campus
-November 23-26, 2017: BIM & BeST3 at the Messezentrum Salzburg exhibition center
-November 8, 2017: Teconomy Vienna, TU Wien
-November 30, 2017: Contacta at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences, Urstein campus

The 450m2 digital showroom brings together the analogue and digital worlds of SKIDATA solutions in an impressive way. How does one manage the admission of 50,000 visitors into a stadium? What goes on in a control center that monitors hundreds of parking garages? Visitors can experience all of this and more up-close in the SKIDATA World of Experience showroom.

Looking for a paid IT degree with a job offer at SKIDATA?

Looking for a paid IT degree with a job offer at SKIDATA? (Source: Salzburg University of Applied Sciences)

How can you get young people excited about studying IT? What can you do to counteract the acute deficit of IT specialists in Austria? And how can you best support IT students to get started in their career? These and many other questions were asked by the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences and the Information Technology & System Management booster club with their many renowned Salzburg-based IT companies. And the answers came in the form of an innovative study package: ITSalzburg//study.work.support – a sponsored course of study at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences including a guaranteed part-time position.

„Exploring new horizons is a part of everyday life at SKIDATA and we are very interested in training qualified and motivated IT and software talents in-house. So for us it was clear that we – as an innovative Salzburg IT company – would be a part of this pilot project,“ says Frank, Senior Vice President of R&D at SKIDATA, about this new study package. This combination of paid part-time work and sponsored IT education program aims to motivate more qualified young people to study Information Technology & System Management at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences.

IT specialist training for Salzburg

The goal of this program is to strengthen Salzburg as an IT hub. Here’s how this new IT study package creates the ideal conditions for future IT students in Salzburg: covered tuition costs, rent subsidies, a paid part-time position in one of the IT companies that belong to the booster club and valuable contacts in Salzburg’s IT world. These are the perfect conditions to master your job and studies and to immediately apply the things you have learned. With the ITSalzburg//study.work.support pilot project, future IT experts will be integrated into Salzburg’s IT working world from the time they start their IT studies.

Attractive sponsorships for students with part-time work at SKIDATA

As part of this IT study package, approximately 20 first-semester students on the full-time Information Technology & System Management Bachelor course at the Salzburg University of Applied Sciences receive financial and moral support. After being accepted onto their program, these future IT students can apply for a part-time job at participating IT companies such as SKIDATA. Prospective applicants should possess previous technical knowledge and enthusiasm for IT.

Anyone interested in studying IT and being a part of the SKIDATA team can find more information and a link to the application form by visiting https://www.skidata.com/en/corporate/jobs-careers/internships-for-students/

SKIDATA – cooperations with universities and universities of applied sciences

Highly-qualified and dedicated staff is the foundation of any company. SKIDATA has traditionally maintained close cooperation with universities. Many of today’s IT experts gained their first experience at SKIDATA. Thanks to their time at a successful IT company, students get valuable professional knowledge for both their studies and their career. At the same time, it is important for SKIDATA that these future IT experts actively participate in the company with their knowledge, skills and personality.

Personal Identity Berlin öffnet Career Camp auf Jobmesse Berlin

Personal Identity Berlin öffnet Career Camp auf Jobmesse Berlin

(Mynewsdesk) Vom 8.-9.

Young professionals with a passion for technology meet SKIDATA as part of Salzburg

During the Summer IT Week from July 25-29, 2016, everything in Salzburg was dedicated to supporting young people. Innovative access solutions and ticketing systems from SKIDATA – a first look for Summer IT Week participants

Interested IT Week participants learned about various careers, including the variety of apprenticeships at SKIDATA, through workshops and company visits. Before things got started, participants had the opportunity to fill up in the SKIDATA cafeteria. There were many interesting looks at different apprenticeships during the Summer IT Week company visit. Participants also tested innovative access solutions and ticket systems themselves and learned about the technology inside. The inquisitive young participants got a better look at a software developer’s everyday worklife and learned how a computer is built. The importance of data encryption was also among the topics discussed.

„surprisingly convincing“ – apprenticeships with a future at SKIDATA

Teilnehmer beim Workshop „FINDEN UND BINDEN“ in Leipzig.

Flexibly combine kids and career: part-time solutions at SKIDATA

Flexibly combine kids and career: part-time solutions at SKIDATA

Flexibly combine kids and career: part-time solutions at SKIDATA

At SKIDATA, working mothers can look forward to appreciation not just once a year on Mother“s Day. This Salzburg company headquartered in Grödig allows women who want to have both children and a career to enjoy a stress-free combination of family and work. They get support when starting work again after maternity leave – flexible work models and understanding of the unique challenge of doing a great job both at work and as a mother.

Return to work without obstacles

For Karin, SKIDATA employee since 1992, the combination of having children and a career works very smoothly. Her successful results are clear: she is the mother of two nearly adult children and team leader of Technical Documentation since the beginning of the year. After three years of maternity leave, starting work again with 15 hours per week and flexible time management was a huge relief. After all, kids don“t conform to parents“ working times. But SKIDATA fully understands: „I always had the feeling that it is clear to my colleagues and superiors that I arrange my working hours in order to fulfill my duties as a mom,“ says Karin. Currently Karin is using the benefits of slightly reduced working hours but primarily wants to concentrate on her work again.

Despite her break from working, Karin never lost the connection to SKIDATA: „I was always invited to Christmas parties and also kept in close contact with my colleagues during my three-year maternity leave.“

SKIDATA celebrates Mother“s Day

In honor of Mother“s Day, SKIDATA invited mothers in the company to a small event: our colleagues enjoyed a wonderful afternoon with plenty of opportunities to talk with each other and company updates for mothers on maternity leave. This way, neither contact with your team nor contact with the job is lost. Children were also warmly welcomed to our Mother“s Day celebration and had plenty of fun designing their own ski tickets.
