Düsseldorf, November 05, 2018 – The Japanese technology company Asahi Kasei will present its technologies and solutions in the areas of sensor technology and premium audio at this year’s electronica, the renowned electronics trade fair in Munich. For the first time at a European trade fair, the electric concept vehicle „AKXY“ will also be present at the booth.

Asahi Kasei presents 36 innovative materials and solutions for the mobility of the future with its specially designed „rolling competence center“ AKXY. Thereby, the cross-divisional innovation approach of the company, which combines the business areas electronics, synthetic rubber, high-performance plastics and textiles, becomes evident. The second highlight at the fair is a „Premium Audio Lounge“, where visitors can experience Asahi Kasei’s premium audio solutions live on site.

Safety drives with you: Sensors for safe and comfortable driving
A special focus of the electronic components in the AKXY is on solutions that make driving safer and more comfortable. For example, the progressive CO2 sensor solution „Sensor Sunrise“, which ensures more concentrated and safer driving. It measures the carbon dioxide content in the car cabin and contributes to better air quality. Senseair Sunrise is produced by the Swedish subsidiary Senseair and is the world’s first optical solid-state NDIR sensor for measuring gases such as carbon dioxide. With an unsurpassed low power consumption – six times lower than that of comparable NDIR sensors – it can easily be integrated into battery-powered systems.

Undisturbed conversations in the car
Driving fast or the playing of music can considerably impair the conversation between driver and passengers. The consequences are inattentive driving and an increased risk for all road users. Asahi Kasei has developed a special solution for this: The digital signal processor (DSP) – as an in-car communication application – ensures safe and comfortable conversations in the car without the driver having to turn his head. With its Engine Sound Creator application, the DSP contributes to an improved driving experience and increased road safety by providing a realistic engine sound.

Solutions for autonomous driving
Intelligent driver assistance systems are experiencing tremendous market growth, with radar sensors playing an important role in the overall system architecture due to their unique capabilities. With the Transceiver IC, Asahi Kasei offers a standard component that increases the performance and precision of the radar sensor in object localization and contributes to improved discrimination accuracy between people and vehicles.

„Sensor island“ and „Premium Audio Lounge“
Asahi Kasei will be exhibiting its concept car in Hall B4 – Booth 516. Additionally, the company will show further sensor solutions on its „sensor island“. A highlight in addition to CO2 and 3D sensors is a newly developed presence sensor, which has very low energy consumption and does not require a lens at all. Further sensor solutions will be presented by Senseair in Hall B3 – Booth 441.

Asahi Kasei has been a premium supplier of D/A and A/D converters as well as digital signal processors (DSP) for high-class audio applications for 25 years. In a specially equipped „Premium Audio Bar“, visitors can convince themselves of the product quality on site. Registrations for a guided tour will be accepted at the booth.

Bonn, April 4, 2018 – CeramOptec®, in cooperation with Ceram Optec SIA, an established manufacturer of multi-mode optical fibers made of silica glass, will be presenting high-quality special fibers for industrial applications in the laser and laboratory technology industries at Optatec 2018 (May 15 – 17 in Frankfurt/Main). The focus of the company’s trade fair presence will be on glass fiber solutions for metalworking and chemical analysis. The first focus of the presentation will be Optran® UV/WF NCC fibers with orthogonal (alternatively also hexa- or octogonal) core geometry. They support many traditional industrial laser applications such as cutting, welding or stripping (laser ablation), but are also suitable for various lighting applications. The main advantage of this fiber type is the active beam formation: its core geometry stimulates all optical modes and thus homogenizes the intensity distribution. As a result, Optran® UV/WF NCC fibers enable industrial laser spots with uniform surface effects and eliminate the need for costly homogenizers.

The second focus of the company’s trade fair presence will be on solarization-resistant Optran® UV NSS fibers for long-term use in the UV range. They block the absorption of UV light by carbon-stabilized defect passivation and, even after several months of UV irradiation, provide an excellent transmission performance of about 85 percent of the original transmission value. Typical applications of Optran® UV NSS fibers are fluorescence spectroscopy, photolithography and UV transillumination, as well as UV curing – for example in stereolithographic additive manufacturing.

In addition to the Optran® UV/WF NCC and Optran® UV NSS fibers, CeramOptec will also exhibit a number of other fibers from the Optran® family at Optatec 2018, as well as fanned-or fused-end glass fiber bundles. Wall projections and true-to-scale 30-cm models of different fiber types will bring the highly sophisticated technology to life for the visitors.

Jena, November 13, 2017 – The success of FiLaC® therapy for the particularly painless and sphincter-friendly removal of anal fistulas from biolitec®, the technology leader in minimally invasive laser therapy, has been confirmed by a recently published long-term study. Very good results in first-line therapy (64.1%) and even better second-line treatment cure rates (85.5%). The study was carried out between October 2009 and July 2014 at the rectum and pelvic floor centre in Cologne (EBZ) by Dr. A. Wilhelm and other researchers on 117 patients.

With ELLA, the new treatment method for endometriosis, biolitec® is expanding its range of therapies in the field of gynaecology. The low-maintenance LEONARDO® DUAL 45 diode laser with its thin, high-quality flexible glass fibers and narrow laparoscopic tubes enables precise control of the laser beam. Initial results of a study confirm the rapid recovery of the AMH value and the significant maintenance of the ovarian reserve.

The biolitec® team will be presenting the whole range of the proven LEONARDO® laser family at booth H46 in hall 10.
The LEONARDO® laser family includes the LEONARDO® Dual series lasers in the 45 Watt, 100 Watt and 200 Watt power ranges, which are all characterized by the continuous use of the two wavelengths 980nm and 1470nm during the treatment. These lasers are the most versatile medical lasers available on the market today. They are suitable for phlebology and proctology as well as minimally invasive procedures in urology, gynaecology, orthopaedics, thoracic surgery and pneumology.

The innovative LEONARDO® Mini has also been part of the family for a year. Weighing only 900 grams this device is available in a version with a wavelength of 1470nm and as LEONARDO® Mini Dual with the two wavelengths 980nm and 1470nm. The small laser can also be used mobile in the established treatment methods of biolitec® for venous diseases, haemorrhoids, fistulas, a broad range of ENT disorders and gynaecological diseases. In addition, the new LEONARDO® Mini can carry out the proven ELVeS® Radial® 2ring laser therapy for the treatment of varicose veins. Sports injuries, inflammations and overloads can be treated quickly, precisely and non-invasively with the 15 Watt LEONARDO® Mini Athletic, which is available in the combinable wavelengths 810nm and 980nm.

The proven, unique XCAVATOR® laser fiber for the treatment of benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) has been significantly improved by biolitec®. Thanks to the optimized absorption capacity in water and hemoglobin, the new XCAVATOR® fiber enables the surgeon to work even faster and more precisely, so that the minimally invasive LIFE procedure of biolitec® can reduce side effects and pain even better than before.

Bonn, 16/05/2017 – CeramOptec, a company specialising in multi-mode optical fibers made of quartz glass, will be presenting glass fibers and fiber bundles for industrial, medical and laboratory applications at the Laser World of Photonics (26 to 29 June 2017 in Munich). They will be focusing on fiber-optic component solutions with special suitability for spectroscopic and surface-processing processes.

The main attractions will be the solarisation-resistant Optran® UV NSS fibers for long-term applications in the deep UV range, as well as the low-loss Optran® UVWFS broadband fibers for applications in the spectrum from UV-C to IR-B. Other products that will be showcased at the trade fair are the Optran® NCC UV/WF fibers with a non-circular core geometry to homogenise intensity distribution and the end-fused PowerLightGuide fiber bundles. These are designed for wide-area applications, with their main features for attraction being their excellent transmission and high temperature resistance. CeramOptec will also present numerous other Optran® fibers as well as classic fiber bundles.

Visitors can experience the Optran® fibers as a true-to-scale 30 cm model at the entirely redesigned CeramOptec stand. There will be a demonstrator that can be used to check the surfaces generated by the different fibers. A wall projection is also used to show the light output of a colour-assorted PowerLightGuide fiber bundle.

„Turn toward the future“ – IPC APEX EXPO invites specialist visitors to San Diego, California from 14 to 16 February 2017 under this banner. Rehm Thermal Systems is once again present at this major electronics trade fair this year, and presents its latest plant technology for reliable reflow convection and condensation soldering at booth 1901.

Rehm presents the following new thermal system solutions to visitors at IPC APEX EXPO:

VisionXP+ Vac: The 2-in-1 solution for reflow convection soldering
The VisionXP+ convection soldering system combines many further developments, in particular with regard to optimising energy efficiency and reducing emissions. Customers can save up to 20 % energy in electronics manufacturing with this system, consuming an average of 10 tonnes less CO2 per year. The vacuum option makes condensation soldering processes possible with or without vacuum for the first time – all in one system! The VisionXP+ Vac reliably vacuums gas inclusions and voids during soldering while the solder is still in its ideal molten state. With a vacuum of up to 2 mbar, void rates of less than 2 % can be achieved.

ViCON: Simple system operation and optimum process traceability
Rehm presents the new ViCON software in the area of smart data and networking, featuring a touch-screen user interface. The German machine manufacturer has developed an innovative solution for easy operability and optimal traceability in the VisionX series. The software can, for example, monitor all values that have changed, or collect and statistically evaluate alarms in order to avoid errors and to optimize machine settings.

CondensoXC: top performance for best reflow condensation soldering
Reflow condensation soldering with the CondensoX series carries out the soldering process by means of hot steam and the Galden® medium. Large, heavy boards can be processed without a problem since the heat transfer is up to ten times higher than with convection soldering. The use of the injection principle and the control of temperature and pressure ensure accurate and diverse reflow profiling. Rehm presents the new CondensoXC at the trade fair. The plant is a particularly space-efficient, high-performance system in the CondensoX series and ideal for laboratory applications, small batch production or prototyping. Void-free soldering can be easily implemented in all systems of the series with the vacuum option.

Revolutionary technology has created new opportunities for cinematography to spread stories and to focus on the challenges beyond traditional markets. Highly innovative, top-class, and creative exhibitors will showcase their latest developments at the International Trade Fair cinec in Munich, 17 – 19 September 2016

Famous manufacturers of cameras like ARRI, Fujinon, Panasonic or SONY have booked their own stands, other renowned brands like RED, Blackmagic, Canon, Panavision, Phantom, and many more are represented by prominent system houses as Teltec, Ludwig-Kameraverleih or Tele-Data. The topics 4k, 8k, HDR, and HFR can be discussed at many places throughout the trade fair.

Optics as central elements of visual design – Uncoated, Vintage, Rehoused, Large-Format, Minis and Master-Primes, Anamorphic Primes or Zoom-Lenses – will be presented by Cooke, P + S, Angenieux, ZEISS, CW-Sonderoptik/LEICA, Vantage or Fujinon, to name just a few of cinec“s exhibitors.

The support industry will also perform at its best:
Visitors will get a first impression even before entering the exhibition halls, as the cranes of Technocrane, Moviebird or Special Grip Hungary will impress at the outdoor exhibition area.
Camera support systems can be surveyed at many stands throughout the cinec show. Gimbals and drones from the global leader DJI can be viewed in action in the Flight Cage at the moving.picture.pavilion. In addition to that visitors can also take a look at Freefly Systems at avt plus.

And last but not least: Virtual Reality. VR is a hot topic, but it isn“t sure yet whether the technology is more than a promotive hype and will really get suitable for movie production.
The experts“ rating includes the whole range from VR being an „extremely hot industry“ to simply being a „fail“. To create a real feeling for immersing in unknown virtual worlds, many severe neurophysiological (motion sickness), data-related, haptic, and first of all financial obstacles have to be overcome.

However, VR is already strongly established in another rapid growing segment: Medical Imaging is a promising field, where several exhibitors of cinec become more and more successful with their innovative technologies – like ARRI, ZEISS, SONY, Trioptics, Panasonic, LABOTRON or Fischer Connectors. No wonder that cinec“s Ancillary Program will address that topic, too.

The cineCongress as part of the Ancillary Program will again start one day before the opening of the show – this year at the new Post Production Studios „Arri @ Bavaria Film“. Prof. Franz Kraus will initiate the high-level seminar program on Friday 16th (registrations mandatory). The cineCongress will then continue directly at the MOC (cinec’s venue) on Saturday 17th with „camera trends“, latest developments of LEDs, IP Infrastructures, and Virtual Reality. The final day of the program on Monday 19th will cover display-technologies and neurophysiological aspects in the field of film production.

Outstanding innovations of cine technology will again be awarded with the cinecAwards. The awards ceremony will take place in the glorious Kaisersaal of the Residenz in Munich at the invitation of Minister of State Ilse Aigner – a rare privilege which witnesses the importance of the cinec.

cinec 2016: Hightec and Hidden Stars

In 1948, Alfred Hitchcock stunned the world with „Rope“: an intimate play-like thriller seemingly filmed in real time. The director had to create the illusion that this film was made without cuts as back then, the film reel had to be replaced every ten minutes. Last year, Sebastian Schipper delighted viewers with his feature film „Victoria“: the story of a bank robbery, told in a single 140-minute sequence shot. Whilst Hitchcock worked completely in the studio, Schipper“s cinematographer Sturla Brandth Grøvlen“s masterpiece was filmed on the roads of Berlin at night.

The multi-awarded „Victoria“ is just one example of how radically film technology has advanced at breathtaking speed in recent years. Recording capacity and resolution continue to push the boundaries, higher frame rates are enhancing the viewing experience, multicopter and other drones have unfettered the camera and allowed new perspectives. While „Virtual Reality“ is the keyword of today, the formerly much vaunted 3D stereography, whilst declared dead by many, is still making money in the multiplex cinemas.

All aspects of the film industry will be covered in Munich in mid-September. The „city of film“ has always been a center of the Moving Image and the south of Germany is home to many manufacturers with famous names. A leading light is of course ARRI – hardly anything that strives for a „cinema-look“ is made without their equipment today: from the cult series „Game of Thrones“ to the recent Academy Award-winners like „The Revenant“, „Spotlight“ or „Mad Max: Fury Road“ – and indeed all nominees for the Best Foreign Language Film. Another key player is Vantage whose anamorphic lenses were recently used at international productions like „Bridge of Spies“, „The Boy“ and „Independence Day: Resurgence“ – as they were previously in the original „Independence Day“ in 1996. The list goes on with MovieTech and Panther with dollies and cranes, Carl Zeiss with optics, Dedo Weigert with innovative LED technology and Denz with high precision parts for the camera and high-tech industries.

It is no wonder that the industry has its own special exhibition every two years where technicians and filmmakers meet at cinec. This is far from being just a Germans national event as half of the exhibitors come from abroad, with famous names, too, such as J.L Fisher, Cooke, Aaton, CW Sonderoptic, Panavision or Technocrane. System houses like Lightequip or Teltec and rental companies like Ludwig Kameraverleih complete together with their renowned partners the range. Algeria provides best business opportunities for exporters of plastics, printing, paper and packaging technology

Algeria is one of the three major importers of plastics, printing, paper and packaging technology on the African continent, with high growth rates. It is against this background, that Algeria“s 4th plast alger and 5th printpack alger take place in parallel from 5 to 7 April 2016 at the Palais des Expositions – SAFEX in Algiers. This international industry meeting is organised by the trade fair specialists fairtrade and their German-Algerian team.

To date, well-known multinational market and technology leaders as well as official country pavilions organised by advantage Austria, Business France and the Spanish association AVEP-the Valencia Association of Plastic Producers have already confirmed their participation at plast & printpack alger 2016.

Algeria together with South Africa and Egypt belongs to the three largest importers of plastics technology on the African continent with high growth rates. Algeria has more than doubled its imports of plastics technology from 60 million US dollars in 2010 to 133 million in 2014, a plus of 120 percent.

The most important supplier countries are China, Italy, Germany, France, Canada, Switzerland, Luxembourg, Austria, Spain and Turkey. The annual consumption of raw materials amounts to one million tons, half of which are imported from Asia and Europe. The per capita consumption of 8-10 kg provides an enormous potential.

Additionally, Algeria provides best business opportunities for exporters of printing, paper & packaging technology, as Algeria is the largest importer of packaging technology and belongs to the three largest importers of printing & paper technology on the African continent. Imports of packaging machinery and equipment to Algeria have been increasing with a CAGR of 13 percent over the past five years. And the imports of printing & paper technology almost tripled over the past five years, up to 126 million US dollars in 2014.

Based on these facts and building on the great success of the previous edition of plast & printpack alger in 2014, with 161 exhibitors from 24 countries and 3,083 high quality visitors, the organizers expect a further increase in quantity and quality for the 2016 edition.

Frankfurt am Main, March 6, 2015 – On February 26th, 2015, the AIRTEC 2015 kick-off event „10th Anniversary of AIRTEC and Premiere in Munich – With joint forces and spirit to its success“ took place from 11 am to 4 pm at the exhibition center Munich. The positive feedback was overwhelming. Around 100 representatives from the national and international aerospace supply industry, system suppliers, and engine manufacturers, as well as from institutions, associations, and foreign governments visited the exhibition center Munich to inform themselves about AIRTEC 2015 at its new fair venues whilst enjoying the Bavarian atmosphere.

The 10th AIRTEC will be hosted under the auspices of the Bavarian State Ministry in cooperation with the bavAIRia e.V. Aerospace Cluster. Through this cooperation AIRTEC will be significantly strengthened and expects a recognisable growth in terms of exhibition space, number of exhibitors, B2B-meetings, technical experts, congress attendants and the level of internationality for 2015.

The numerous guests from Germany, the United States, France, Canada, the Netherlands, Austria, Poland, Turkey, and South Korea experienced impressive and exciting presentations at the event. The guests were welcomed by the president and CEO of AIRTEC, Diana Schnabel, who in her welcoming speech expressed her delight about having moved AIRTEC to Munich since the state of Bavaria and bavAIRia e.V. are competent partners, who share her enthusiasm and ideas for the aerospace industry.

The Deputy CEO of Messe München, Dr. Reinhard Pfeiffer, clearly declared AIRTEC as the perfect match to the new location Munich, as AIRTEC fits into Munich“s portfolio with its high amount of technology fairs and into the modern fair site. Horst Steinberg, member of the executive board of bavAIRia e.V., outlined the strong innovativeness and the high quality standards of the Bavarian aerospace industry and the visionary leadership of the Bavarian government having already played a significant role in many important projects. Prof. Dr.-Ing. Florian Holzapfel, head of the Institute of Flight System Dynamics of the Technical University Munich, gave a visionary and fascinating speech in which he focused on two main topics: The chances for small and medium-sized enterprises in the aerospace industry and the emerging opportunities for aerospace in the future market of unmanned aircraft vehicles (UAV).

Other speakers, among them representatives from procurement of OHB System, Pratt & Whitney, TAI Turkish Aerospace Industries, and numerous exhibitors and suppliers spoke about their positive experiences with AIRTEC and the successful B2B concept, about AIRTEC“s role for the aerospace supply industry and the expectations towards the trade fair were addressed as well.

After the lectures the guests used the networking opportunities in Bavarian atmosphere. The kick-off event was closed by a tour around the exhibition site and the halls.
