Plunet offers new career opportunities for KTU students

Plunet Academy – Kaunas University cooperates with Plunet

Thanks to the cooperation agreement between Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania and Plunet GmbH, students and graduates of the course Translation and localization of technical texts can now expand their knowledge in the field of translation management. With the help of Plunet, they will learn how to professionally implement project management tasks.

Project management skills are in high demand for translators
Plunet BusinessManager is the leading business and translation management software. From customer requests to quote, order, job, and invoice management and reporting, the whole workflow is covered in one solution. Add-ons for interpreting projects, quality management, and integrations with CAT and accounting tools ensure higher automation and, as a result, more efficient operations.
„The demand for project management skills in the translation market is currently very high. Technical knowledge alone is no longer enough – employees also need to be capable of efficiently implementing projects,“ emphasizes Jurgita Motiejnien, head of the Lithuanian HR department at the automotive supplier Continental.
During their studies, the students at KTU will learn the ins and outs of working with Plunet BusinessManager. Then they will be introduced to real translation and localization projects, which will prepare them for the requirements of the international job market.

Plunet Academy offers students valuable support for their professional future
„Plunet BusinessManager is a powerful system with a wide variety of settings and scaling options. We are very happy that the Plunet Academy is advising the members of the academic network on how to prepare and develop teaching content,“ says Dalia Venckien, who has been working as a lecturer at KTU for many years.
Some Lithuanian employers require that applicants already have some knowledge of Plunet. The KTU graduates will acquire valuable Plunet know-how during their degree course, which will equip them well for their professional future in the translation industry.
The Plunet Academy supports teaching and research in the field of translation project management at a number of selected universities. Besides KTU, other Academy partners include the KU Leuven (Belgium), the University of Geneva (Switzerland) and the Complutense University of Madrid (Spain). Further cooperations are currently being planned.

SKIDATA informs about career opportunities

This leader in innovation from Grödig counts on school visits, career fairs and presentations – Information for Students & Graduates

SKIDATA informs about career opportunities

Meet & Greet at SKIDATA

SKIDATA regularly invites groups of high school and university students to Grödig to offer them a glimpse into the world of access solutions and ticketing systems. Recently, for example, students from the FOM University of Applied Sciences in Nuremburg visited this innovative leader. But it“s not only groups of students who can take a look behind the scenes at SKIDATA; in June and July, for example, teachers of the Rankweil and Innsbruck polytechnic schools took the chance to keep in contact with the industry and create a closer connection between training and the professional world.

An exciting reunion for SKIDATA employees and their training institutions

It is not uncommon for SKIDATA employees representing the company at career fairs to reunite with their former training institutions. For the participants it is a special experience to visit their former schools, see their professors and teachers and meet new students. One example is Christian, senior manager for hardware development/project management. Thirty-one years after graduating from the HTL Braunau polytechnic, he gave new students information about his career path. „You stay in the loop when it comes to developments at the training institutions, and more subjects are always being added. One positive thing I noticed at the company day at the HTL Braunau polytechnic was that more and more young women are choosing to attend technical schools,“ says Christian.

Summer Internships at SKIDATA

Pupils and students get a closer look at software development, hardware development and technical support

At SKIDATA in Grödig near Salzburg in Austria, the average staff age sinks in July and August. The reason: pupils and students use their summer holiday to complete an internship at this innovative leader for access solutions and visitor management. In addition to work experience, internships serve an important orientation function for further career planning and show interns what a real day at work at an international company looks like. Internships are also a great opportunity for SKIDATA to get to know potential future staff and maintain contact with younger generations.

Internships at SKIDATA: also possible during the rest of the year

Those interested in gaining experience in IT or learning about work as a software developer or hardware developer at SKIDATA have the chance to do so during the rest of the year, too. Project work or writing your thesis while working is also possible. Find more information about the various kinds of internships at SKIDATA at: http://www.skidata.com/ueber-skidata/karriere/schueler-studenten.html.

Dialogue Career Day: Kooperation mit SoS Events verspricht sportlich-lockere Atmosphäre in Köln

SoS Events

Aachen, 06.

Nina Richter, Abteilungsleiterin Marketing & PR beim OFW:
