Augsburg / La Reunion, May 17, 2017. French solar forecasting pioneer Reuniwatt and German leading provider of technical consulting and monitoring solutions for PV systems meteocontrol GmbH have decided to intensify their business relationship. The partnership concerns real-time estimations and intraday forecasts for different sites in Asia.

The need for satellite data in China and Japan
Since 2014, meteocontrol has been getting a growing demand from Asian market players who are looking for monitoring and yield assessment solutions. Moreover, the Asian market is currently the largest global expanding market in the solar industry. meteocontrol has asked Reuniwatt to provide them with real-time estimations (also called „nowcasts“) and intraday forecasts for their Asian portfolio. Indeed, Reuniwatt has a known expertise in satellite data treatment, necessary to obtain such services. The French company has access to real-time raw satellite data issuing from five geostationary satellites covering all continents: Himawari-8 for Asia-Pacific, Meteosat-10 for Europe and Africa, Meteosat-8 for the Indian Ocean and the Middle East, GOES-East for North and South America, GOES-West for the Pacific islands.

Satellite data are available in near-real time: every 10 minutes for Himawari-8 and every 15 minutes for the other satellites. Reuniwatt“s operational method for providing nowcasts and intra-day solar forecasts is based on the most performing techniques to convert satellite images into solar irradiance maps.

The latest trends and products await visitors to this year“s Intersolar Exhibition from 13 to 15 June 2012 in Munich. Augsburg-based system builder KUKA Systems will showcase itself to visitors from around the world in Hall A6, Booth 390.

This year, KUKA Systems GmbH will again present its customary wide array of automation options at the world“s largest exhibition for the solar industry. As one of the world“s leading system integrators for flexible automation concepts, the Augsburg-based technology leader has developed and established unique manufacturing solutions for the energy sector. These include examples in the industrial production of crystalline solar modules as well as modules based on thin film technology and solar collectors. KUKA Systems to showcase the complete solar automation building kit

Augsburg-based automation specialist and system integrator KUKA Systems GmbH is participating in this year“s international exhibition and conference for the solar industry and photovoltaics in Shanghai, the SNEC PV Power Expo 2012. It is one of the biggest events for the photovoltaic sector in Asia and is used by more than 2000 international companies as a platform for presenting the latest trends and solutions. At Booth 530 in Hall E3 from 16 to 18 May 2012, KUKA Systems will be exhibiting products and solutions for the automated production of photovoltaic modules.

Quality is the keyword at the PV Power Expo in Shanghai. KUKA Systems offers a variety of individually engineered solutions for the automated manufacture of crystalline photovoltaic modules. The systems for monitoring the process steps and for quality assurance enable the module manufacturers to produce top-quality modules. A Revolution for Solar Energy Providers and Photovoltaic Systems

Gold Medals All Around for J.v.G. Thoma: Innovative Lamination Technology Makes This Photovoltaic Module Series The New Standard.

Freystadt/Oberpfalz – If there were a World Cup event for the solar industry J.v.G. Thoma GmbH would have secured their position among the winners, because this specialist in the development and marketing of production equipment is the innovation engine for the entire industry.

The latest development from Thoma, an almost revolutionary high-performance module, is breaking several records at the same time. For one thing, it is extremely heat resistant and very appropriate for deployment in desert regions, since it can handle temperatures up to 125°C. For another, it has three times the life span in comparison with equivalent modules. The module is PID-free, which is extremely important for solar plants, because the Potentially Induced Degradation (PID) is one of the primary causes of performance losses in solar plants over the life their operations. This new, high-performance module was developed in close cooperation with the Bavarian solar provider, Jurawatt. A number of patents have already been registered for the new technology.

The development was made possible by a completely new lamination process. J.v.G. Thoma will offer this technology as a process to all customers who want to invest in manufacturing equipment and thereby open up attractive opportunities for themselves on the market.

Jurawatt GmbH, located in Neumarkt, will make the „desert-capable“ high-performance module into a production series from January 2012. Production of the module will start almost simultaneously in Korea upon completion of the new Jurasolar plants in February 2012.

The module has been subjected to the strictest testing in accordance with the IEC and DIN standards. Among other tests, this includes testing UV behavior, temperature cycling, humidity-freezing behavior and steam-heat testing, which has been conducted for over 3,000 hours. Overall, the module received the best grades. The values were confirmed both by TÜV Germany (technical inspection association) as well as the Institut National de l“Énergie Solaire (INES, national institute of solar energy).
