Side channel blowers of SKVTechnik have to be protected against total failure for various reasons. For one, financial reasons play a role, of course.
Another important point is that side channel blowers are usually in operation as endurance runners. They perform their work in many plants without the need for daily control. Why is it important to use a limit valve?
Side channel blowers are valuable devices that usually run in continuous operation and unattended. If the suction or pressure channel is closed, then the side channel blower motors continue to work and build up enormous pressure. The force can not be carried away with the air and the rotor presses more and more against the compression. The rotor blades twist. How does a limit valve work?

For this purpose, the valve is supplied with two springs of different strengths. Each spring is designed for a specific pressure-vacuum power range. Valves VRL8 and VRL9 have the possibility to use both springs in parallel. * Remove the two plastic caps
* Attach the valve to the pressure bypass and connect a pressure gauge.
* Loosen the screw 923 (description enclosed) and reduce the spring pressure on the upper adjusting screw with the adjusting key supplied.
* Turn on the fan and create the maximum pressure.
* Adjust the upper adjusting screw until the maximum permissible pressure is reached (observe manufacturer’s instructions).
* Fix the screw 923.
* Opening the pressure channel.
* Carefully check the settings.

Maintenance ( SKVTechnik hints for maintenance):

Before starting scheduled maintenance or before repairing or repairing the device, take the following precautions:

Today, SKVTechnik reports on the various low-voltage motors offered and their international classification standard.

-EFF1-
Electric motors have been divided into different efficiency classes in Europe for several years. Then three-phase motors power range between 1.1 and 90 kW (exclusively two- and four-pole motors) divided into three so-called efficiency classes („eff classes“ eff = Efficiency). For global standardization, therefore, the new international standard IEC 60034-30 (Rotating electrical machines – Part 30: Efficiency classes of single-speed, three-phase, cage-induction motors (IE code) was created.
This classifies the low-voltage asynchronous motors into new efficiency classes (valid since Oct. 2008). The efficiencies in IEC 60034-30 are based on the determination of loss according to the standard part IEC 60034-2-1. This has been valid since November 2007 and will replace all previous IEC 60034-2 standards from November 2010. The additional losses are now measured and no longer added pauachally.
The new efficiency classes receive a new nomenclature:
IE1 (Standard Efficiency),
IE2 (High Efficiency),
IE3 (Premium Efficiency),
IE = International Efficiency.

Side channel blowers draw in air from the environment or from a process and produce pulsation-free and oil-free compressed air. The side channel compressor runs largely without mechanical loss. Although only a hundredth of a millimeter gap is between the rotor and the stator, the rotor still runs without contact against the stator.
How it works?
Side channel blowers suck in gases and increase the pressure of the intake gas during the compression process. The pressure increase is generated by the air in the chambers between the rotor and stator is placed in a rotary motion. The centrifugal force of the rotary motion pushes the gas outward into the side channel. While the chambers push the compressed gas into the side channel, it is compressed several times. This is the cause of the permanent pressure increase over the length of the side channel. This creates an oil-free and pulsation-free air flow.

Due to the volume-pressure characteristics mentioned above, fans are used for applications other than side channel blowers.
