Cold weather – hot presentations: 2nd National Osteology Symposium in Moscow

Cold weather - hot presentations: 2nd National Osteology Symposium in Moscow

National Osteology Symposium in Moskow

Back to the roots: Nine years ago the very first National Osteology Symposium was held in Moscow. The Foundation returned in October 2014 with a highly successful National Symposium and a hot programme in Moscow, already in the grip of winter.

Further information on the Osteology National SymposiaAt the National Osteology Symposium there were no signs of the icy cold prevailing outside in Russia at the end of October. 500 participants registered for the two-day event in the prestigious Lotte Hotel in Moscow from 25 to 26 October 2014 to catch up on the hottest and newest trends in oral restoration. The event held under the motto „Two inspiring days of new ideas and new friends“ was sold out.

It was the second time a National Symposium had taken place in the Russian capital. Back in 2005, the very first National Symposium of the Osteology Foundation was staged in Moscow. So the 2014 event was like going back to the Foundation’s roots.

The scientific programme entitled „Current concepts and future demands in oral tissue regeneration“ spanned all aspects of oral regeneration: current techniques in soft tissue regeneration were covered, as well as sophisticated treatment concepts for bone regeneration. Handling complications was another main topic in the scientific programme on the first day of the National Symposium.

The presentations from the national and international speakers attracted great interest among the participants, as was also reflected in the lively discussions and numerous questions. Often the time was too scarce to answer all the questions and the discussions had to be curtailed or postponed to the breaks. To avoid any communication problems between international and national participants and speakers, all presentations were simultaneously translated into English or Russian.

A further highlight of the scientific programme compiled by Chairmen Christoph Hämmerle, Switzerland, and Anatoly Kulakov, Russia, was the Interactive Forum, in which cases were firstly presented and then discussed by a team of international experts. The participants explained that they found it particularly interesting, as well as exciting, to hear different opinions and approaches from the various experts.

An „Implant Forum“ took place on the second day of the National Osteology Symposium with six further presentations from international speakers. These presentations were all organised by different sponsors from industry, yet their contents showed a high degree of neutrality and they were scientifically sound.

Various hands-on workshops were also run on the second day, true to the Osteology Foundation’s motto: „Linking science and practice“. One workshop with the speakers Christoph Hämmerle and Daniel Thoma was organized directly by the Foundation, and four others were provided by sponsors of the Symposium. All workshops met with strong interest and were very popular. Two further theoretical sponsor workshops were also very well attended.

Christoph Hämmerle and Daniel Thoma were delighted and impressed by the Osteology Workshop: „The Russian surgeons‘ skills were very good“, they reported. „Thanks to the high level of the participants, this workshop was really outstanding.“

The scientific programme was accompanied by a poster exhibition where the latest research insights were presented. Three of the posters were presented with awards by the jurors Kristian Badalyan, Russia, and Daniel Thoma, Switzerland, and the authors received the opportunity to introduce themselves and their work in a five-minute presentation on the podium.

The poster awards were given to:
– Alexey A. Mikhaylovsky
– Avtandil M. Khorguani
– Olga Eisenbraun

The National Osteology Symposium in Russia was the last in 2014 – a worthy conclusion to a successful year with great symposia in China, Columbia and Japan. And next year it continues with Germany and Italy – further information will be available shortly on the Osteology Foundation website. (http://www.osteology.org/education/national-symposia/)

Speakers and moderators of the National Osteology Symposium in Moscow, Russia:

Christoph Hämmerle, Switzerland (Scientific Chairman)
Anatoly Kulakov, Russia (Scientific Chairman)

Kristina Badalyan, Russia
Rino Burkhardt, Switzerland
Aram Davidyan, Russia
Grigory Drobot, Russia
Aleksey Drobyshev, Russia
Ueli Grunder, Switzerland
Massimo Simion, Italy
Daniel Thoma, Switzerland
Pascal Valentini, Italy

The Osteology Foundation’s motto is „Linking Science with Practice in Regeneration“. The foundation was established in 2003 and its core activities include funding of research projects and organisation of national and international symposia throughout the world. In recent years, the Foundation has expanded its focus. Today, it also offers courses and textbooks specifically for researchers in the field of oral tissue regeneration.

PRESS RELEASE

HAMBURG, 14th APRIL 2014

German company helps in the battle against lack of women in China

A few months ago an entrepreneur from Hamburg has established a unique company that should play a role in the fight against the lack of women in China. The new company, named Yue-Lao ( www.yue-lao.net ), focuses on matchmaking between Chinese men, who have increasingly large difficulties in finding a suitable partner, and especially Eastern European women, who over the past years searched for their luck in the traditional western countries.

Founder and owner of Yue-Lao Ludmilla Balvers-Patlacenko (51) has her roots in the Ukraine and has lived and worked in Germany since 1998. Through the work of her parents, she has lived in several countries of the former Soviet Union and knows this culture like no other. For historical and demographical reasons there is in Eastern Europe a shortage of men, and during a trip to Asia a few years ago she noticed the lack of marriageable young women, and she gradually developed a business plan.

Ludmilla: „Because of the one-child policy in China in the last decades, there is currently a shortage of 30 to 50 million women in the age-group of 20 to 40 years. The Chinese government has already recognized this problem and sees it as a threat for the future development of the country. Also, due to the strong migration from rural areas to the cities, a demographic structure is created everywhere with too few women and on the long term there is no future.“

Yue-Lao has recently developed a website ( www.yue-lao.net ), which will play a key role in the process of coupling the Chinese men with their new partners from Eastern Europe (and vice versa). The site is completely multilingual, and each target group is addressed in its own Chinese or Russian language. This sets Yue-Lao apart from many other dating sites.

„There are thousands of dating websites. But most of these websites offer only flirting contacts and no reputable dating service. There are also many sites to bring Asian women and Western men together, but that is an entirely different segment where sometimes moral values are at stake. Yue-Lao is the first multilingual multicultural organization that focuses exclusively on partnership services for these target groups. We bring men and women not only in touch, but actively support this process, for example by translating messages that are exchanged, through local events, visa services, and if desired, we can even organize a multicultural dream wedding. We do not live from advertising revenues on our website, our core business is reputable partnership service.“

Are the cultural differences between China and Eastern and Western Europe not too big? „Of course there are differences between cultures, which even date back thousands of years. But China has made a big step towards the West in recent years and in many ways has become a much more modern society than we realize. Moreover, Chinese men are excellent husbands, where many traditional values such as loyalty and reliability have a high priority. These are aspects that certainly appeal to all women because often they cannot find that in their own country.“

The first candidates have already registered. It is a fantastic challenge for a company in Hamburg to build a bridge between Eastern Europe and the Far China!

Kreativ dank Wohlfühlatmosphäre im Büro – neue Trends auf der Office Next Moscow 2014

Kreativ dank Wohlfühlatmosphäre im Büro - neue Trends auf der Office Next Moscow 2014

Office Next Moscow

Nürnberg/Moskau, 10. Dezember 2013

greatcontent, a managed crowdsourcing service for multilingual copywriting, is now adding Russian and Swedish to its copywriting offering. The company is opening the doors for its clients to some of the fastest growing e-commerce markets in Europe. „Our teams have worked hard over the summer and we are glad to already have more than 200 qualified writers in Russia and Sweden available to our clients,“ says Jasper Masemann, founder and CEO of greatcontent. Text production in Russian and Swedish went live this week.

Russia and Sweden: New Markets, New Opportunities
Expanding into the Russian and Swedish markets was the next logical step for the innovative company. „Many of our Western European-language clients were asking us when we were going to offer copywriting in Russian and Swedish. There is huge potential to leverage our experience to support clients who are active in this region, or seeking to engage with these markets,“ said Masemann. „In terms of online activity, Sweden is one of the most well- connected countries in Europe and more than half of web users purchase products and services online. Russia itself is considered by many to be the next „e-commerce frontier“ with online commercial activity expected to grow by 27 percent every year through to 2015.“

„greatcontent has the right mix of qualified people and tools to produce original and locale-relevant content for companies of all sizes. Over the years, we“ve streamlined our processes to make content production easier than it“s ever been, and it“s always exciting to see how quickly new languages take off,“ he adds.

Communicate with your Customers Europe-wide
This brings the number of languages the company offers to ten, and promises to continue greatcontent“s annual two-digit growth seen over the past four years. greatcontent offers businesses a unique and differentiated on-demand text creation service. Texts can easily be ordered centrally via a multilingual interface on the greatcontent platform, and are delivered within days. greatcontent works with native speakers, and utilises semantic technologies to support fast quality assurance for its clients. A service which enjoys an increasing demand from local but also internationally expanding online companies such as Zalando and Groupon.

Founded in 2009, content.de and greatcontent facilitate text content production platforms that apply a managed crowdsourcing business model to distribute client projects to the best-fitting pre-qualified copywriters. The company creates content for e-commerce as well as marketing companies, and localises online shop content for many large European players such as Sixt, Venere/Expedia, home24, Tirendo, Zalando and Pixmania. greatcontent already meets the needs of up to 2,000 clients every month, producing up to 10,000 texts per day, and collaborates with more than 10,000 qualified writers.

From its Berlin headquarters, greatcontent supervises a pool of international copywriters who enjoy a supportive environment on a platform that takes the hassle out of freelance writing and always rewards talent. The company offers copywriting and translation services in British and American English, German, French, Italian, Spanish, Polish, Portuguese, Dutch, Flemish, and now, Russian and Swedish.

Russia and Siberia – Investments in the billions to the energy industry

Russia and Siberia - Investments in the billions to the energy industry

elcom Logo

2nd elcom Rossija from 17 to 19 September 2013 with focus on the future“s energy mix

From 17 to 19 September 2013 the Novosibirsk Expocentre will open its doors for the 2nd edition of elcom Rossija. The International Trade Fair on Renewable and Conventional Energy, Energy Efficiency, Electrical Engineering, Lighting and Automation will be held against the backdrop of investments in the billions to the energy industry of Russia and Siberia. Once again the exhibition again will be accompanied by a vast conference program with dedicated thematic focus on energy efficiency and intelligent solutions for the future“s energy mix. Siberia“s leading platform for the energy and electrical industry is jointly organised by Siberia Expo of Novosibirsk, the German trade show specialist fairtrade from Heidelberg and Euroindex of Kiev, Ukraine.

The Russian Ministry of Energy estimates the required investment volume for modernisation and construction of power plants in Russia at more than 100 billion Euros until 2020. According to GTAI – Germany Trade and Invest of 19 March 2013 the major projects will be realized in Siberia and the Far East. The main problems in Russia are ageing plants and equipment, with poor efficiency. This is evidenced by the fact that more than half of all heating plants are running since 32 and 50 years, further 22 per cent are even older than 50 years, reports the Energy Ministry. From this push for modernization Russian and foreign producers and suppliers in the energy industry will benefit. (Source: www.gtai.de )

According to Martin März, Managing Director with fairtrade, elcom Rossija is a business to business event with a clear focus on quality attendees. März further: „Accompanied by a top level conference program, this is the only specialized event behind the Ural dealing with the major questions in the energy sector. The importance of this event is underlined by the full institutional backing of representatives from the Russian Government and from the Government of the Novosibirsk Region.“ During the three days of the exhibition and the forum international and Russian experts will share their professional experience in the development of the energy efficient systems.

The organisers expect a further increase in the quality of the professional trade show visitors. In 2012, 88 per cent of the exhibitors declared themselves satisfied with the quality of the visitors. 75 per cent would recommend this trade show.

Siempelkamp modernizes water-hydraulic presses in Russia

Siempelkamp modernizes water-hydraulic presses in Russia

The 100-MN press at SMK will be equipped with a new water-hydraulic control through Siempelkamp

Modernization is cheaper than new construction

In April already JSC „Stupino Metallurgical Company“ (SMK) placed an order with Siempelkamp to modernize the water-hydraulic control of a 100-MN press of Schloemann make as well as to provide for a corresponding new die heating system. Also for the modification of the water-hydraulic control of a 46-MN closed-die forging press into an open-die forging press SMK decided in favor of the machine builder as professional business partner located in Krefeld. Owing to this order Siempelkamp demonstrates its position as full-line supplier for press plants: mechanics, hydraulics and electrics are all from one source.

SMK is one of the leading manufacturer for products made of heat-resistant nickel alloys and special steels for the Russian aircraft industry: The Siempelkamp customer makes parts for gas turbine drives. For its location Stupino near Moscow SMK has been now projecting modernization and retrofit of existing plants: owing to the new Siempelkamp hydraulic systems the customer is able to provide for a more precise control of the presses maintaining the central water-hydraulic stations.

By means of the water-hydraulic control especially developed for the modernization of a 100-MN Schloemann press the moving crosshead can be positioned more precisely by up to rates of 0.15mm/sec. Additionally the parallelism of the moving crosshead is supported under all conditions of operation. The innovative Siempelkamp system is also beneficial for the following reason: special curves for speed and pressure of the press are programmed and subsequently stored for individual products. During the forging process a detailed report of the achieved values that are subsequently filed is given to the user.

Included in the modernization package of the 100-MN press are additionally the electric control and a die heating system. The latter one is completely integrated in the control keeping the die at a constant temperature of 900°C during the forging pause.

Through the modernization process repeatability, recording and filing of the actual forming procedure is ensured. In addition to that the production of work pieces made of granulated heat-resistant nickel alloys is enabled through the technology „HIP + forming“.

For the modification of a 46-MN closed-die forging press into an open-die forging press Siempelkamp will also supply a new water-hydraulic control as well as electric control for the plant of Stupino. The open-die forging press can subsequently make up to 60 strokes per minute. Additionally two rail-bound manipulators with rotary table will be integrated into the installation.

For both modifications in the field of water-hydraulic controls Siempelkamp relies on the cooperation with Hauhinco Maschinenfabrik G. Hausherr Jochums GmbH & Co. KG in Sprockhövel. Hauhinco is one of the leading system suppliers for water-hydraulic systems, high-pressure pumps, valves and industrial components. The expert successfully realized for instance the modernization of the water hydraulics of the 500-MN closed-die forging press at Alcoa Forging & Extrusions in Cleveland, the biggest press in the United States, in the year 2010.

Upon the signatures of the contract the Siempelkamp engineers directly started with the design works; commissioning of both presses are scheduled for the end of 2012. After completion of all works the presses at SMK will meet with the strict requirements of the aircraft industry. In fact these presses will turn to new presses – however at lower cost for project realization that for a new plant.
