Augsburg, May 18, 2016. – The Middle East, northern Africa and Turkey (MENAT) are the focal point of the partnership between the photovoltaic service providers meteocontrol GmbH and Phoenix Solar AG. Phoenix Solar, an international photovoltaic company, will rely on meteocontrol’s monitoring systems to operate PV power plants in the MENAT region. The companies are launching the partnership with a joint project in central Anatolia.

meteocontrol has developed a cost-optimized monitoring concept for a complex of six PV power plants near the city of Kayseri in central Anatolia. The blue’Log Station X-Series will monitor and control the individual units of the entire power plant, which produces nominal power of 6.9 MWp. Phoenix Solar has been awarded a contract by a Turkish consortium to perform all planning and purchasing work in the group’s first plant-sized project. Another complex that generates power of 4.9 MWp is currently being constructed at the Kayseri site. „The partnership with Phoenix Solar enhances our growth strategy in the MENAT region,“ says Martin Schneider, Managing Director of meteocontrol, who adds: „For this reason, we are really looking forward to a long-term partnership. Largest private PV power plant in Jordan
One particularly promising project is the largest private PV power plant in Jordan: The 11 MWp PV power plant will consist of three individual units. It is designed to meet all the electricity needs of the Marriott and Sheraton hotel chains in Jordan. It will also serve as a pilot project for similar power plants in Jordan and other MENAT countries. The systems are being installed in the Muwaqqar and Damikhi, Qatrana, regions and will be connected to the grids of Jordan Electric Power Co., plc., and Electric Distribution Company, plc. Under Jordan’s renewable energy law, which is considered one of the most progressive in the entire Middle East, the Power Wheeling Regulation permits solar energy to be generated at sites located away from the area of consumption. Once the plant is completed, Phoenix Solar will also manage operation of the three power plants. For this work, meteocontrol is supplying both the remote monitoring system for the VCOM virtual control room and a local SCADA system for on-site monitoring.

Augsburg, May 10, 2016 – meteocontrol GmbH has equipped six British solar parks belonging to BayWa r.e. renewable energy GmbH with its monitoring systems and put them into operation. 60 data loggers of the blue“Log X series help to ensure trouble-free operation and standards-compliant electricity feed-in. BayWa r.e. built the turnkey facilities with a total power capacity of around 130 MWp within six months. The company then worked with meteocontrol to connect them to the grid on schedule in March 2016.

meteocontrol provided the monitoring systems for the solar parks in Southern England and Wales as a turnkey solution. Based on comprehensive planning, each PV system was equipped with the necessary measuring technology in stations as well as pre-wired and fully assembled metrological control cabinets. meteocontrol installed a total of 60 data loggers from the innovative blue“Log X series. 30 meteocontrol stations are in place at the 30 MWp Rose & Crown free field system in Wisbech alone. Working on site, the PV specialists from Augsburg then put the monitoring systems into operation and thus ensured that the PV facilities were commissioned according to schedule.

„Finishing the solar parks on time allows us to gain accreditation for the ROC 1.3 program in Great Britain and once again demonstrates our competence as a quality-oriented project developer and general contractor,“ said Matthias Taft, Energy Director at BayWa AG and Managing Director of BayWa r.e. „With meteocontrol as a dependable partner, the monitoring systems were installed and commissioned quickly and efficiently.“ BayWa r.e. has taken on operation management for the six PV plants itself and thus oversees wind and solar parks producing around 440 MW in the UK.

Augsburg, April 19, 2016 – meteocontrol GmbH has equipped seven new solar power plants in Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg and Hesse with its monitoring systems. meteocontrol“s monitoring and control systems manage the regulated grid feed-in operations and ensure that the PV systems operate at optimum capacity with a total output of 24.3 MWp. Contracted by IBC SOLAR AG, the Augsburg-based PV specialist supplied a complete solution package ranging from project planning to commissioning the systems on site.

„Our complete package for monitoring and grid feed-in management in PV systems relieves some of the burden on the customer’s workforce and ensures professional execution,“ explains Martin Schneider, Managing Director of meteocontrol. „We have many years of project experience and continuously advance our systems in line with the latest market and customer requirements.“ In the seven PV power plants built by general contractor IBC SOLAR, meteocontrol installed the monitoring and energy-management systems in close cooperation with IBC Solar. The smooth and timely commissioning was also carried out in close cooperation with the PV specialist’s technicians. The PV systems, which range from 1.3 MWp to 9.9 MWp of installed power, are connected to the power grids of Bayernwerk AG, Netze BW GmbH, and Energienetz-Mitte GmbH. The portfolio includes the PV power plant in Lichtenfeld, Bavaria, a solar power park in Marktheidenfeld, and power plants in Eschenburg and Neuberg in the state of Hesse.

Full-service package for EPCs and investors

Augsburg, January 19, 2016 – meteocontrol GmbH, one of the world’s leading companies for monitoring and quality assurance of photovoltaic systems, has equipped the Pituacu and Maracana solar stadiums in Brazil with the safe’Sun Professional remote monitoring system. As a result, the output and status of the PV systems with a total power of around 800 kWp can be permanently displayed and monitored via the online portal. Rapid and targeted intervention in the event of error messages and yield inconsistencies ensures smooth operation and hence maximum solar energy yield. In the future, the PV system of Viracopos International Airport in São Paulo will also be monitored using meteocontrol’s reliable system.

meteocontrol supplied and configured the devices for data recording as well as the software for monitoring the PV systems on the roofs of the Pituau and Maracanã football stadiums. WEB’log data loggers are used, which accurately record all relevant system data and transfer it to the safer’Sun Professional online portal for evaluation and monitoring. By comparing these values with the simulated data for the expected energy production, the portal provides extensive yield analyses. The system operators receive a data update every 15 minutes. Visualized clearly, the update is available in graphical and numerical form and as a download for further analyses.

Rapid error detection safeguards operation
Significant deviations in the yield evaluation automatically trigger an error message. The extensive and individually configurable alarm management system immediately informs the operation managers in the event of faults and prevents yield losses caused by insidious errors. Maintenance and repair costs are reduced, and smooth operation maximizes yield and profit.

changetec NOVA CEI 0-21 fulfills all requirements to meet the new Italian standard for PV systems

Freiberg am Neckar, 02 August 2012 – With the Delibere of the AEEG 84/12 it applies from 1 July 2012 for all PV systems larger than 6 kW, that an external grid protection is needed. Existing PV systems with feed into the medium-voltage grid have to be upgraded until 31 March 2013.
Changetec NOVA, the product solution of the innovative company from Germany, provides the necessary remote tripping, parameter settings to defined values and it also has a RS485 – Interface. This Interface can be used for parameter setting, firmware updating and it has diagnostic functions.
The declaration of Compliance of NOVA describes the conformity with CEI 0-21 and the declaration of the product as „Interface device“ and „Interface protection“. The applied bonus system for energy generating units in low- and medium-voltage grid is also valid with use of grid protection changetec NOVA.

The necessary, external grid protection „changetec NOVA“ provides a standard-compliant system commissioning and upgrading for PV systems in Italy, which are larger than 6kVA and with a second backup interlock also for systems which are larger than 20kVA.
