Printing on polyester Textiles

Unique solution for printing polyester based surfaces and textiles with Ghost Sublime toner for laser printers.

Printing on polyester Textiles

Products made using Ghost Sublime

Ghost White Toner is best known for offering white toner cartridges for various HP, Samsung and Lexmark office laser printers. By replacing the black toner cartridge with a Ghost White Toner, customers can transform their laser printer into a white toner printer. In combination with transfer films for textiles or solid surfaces, dark textiles and other products can be easily personalized.

Sublimation printing is a widely used process for printing on various polyester or polymer-coated surfaces. In this process, a dye becomes gaseous under heat and pressure and thus transfers the design permanently into the substrate. Common substrates are mobile phone cases, mugs, t-shirts, banners, flags, trophies and other merchandise items.

This technology was only available on inkjet printers. With Ghost Sublime Toner, customers can easily transform their HP laser printer into a sublimation printer by replacing the standard CMYK toner cartridges with a set of Ghost Sublime Toner CMYK. Designs such as photos, vector graphics and logos, printed on plain copy paper can now easily be transferred to sublimation-friendly surfaces.
No special software or transfer paper is required for sublimation printing with Ghost Sublime Toner.
Ghost Sublime toner is now available for HP Color Laserjet Pro M452 and HP Color Laserjet Pro M252. In these devices, the tried and tested Ghost White Toners can also be used to personalize dark surfaces and textiles. The investment in different systems for toner transfer and sublimation is no longer necessary.

Ghost White Toner and Ghost Sublime Toner can be tested live at FESPA Europe in Berlin. Visit us in hall 4.1 booth D60

fairtrade launch plastprintpack Nigeria 2015 in Lagos

fairtrade launch plastprintpack Nigeria 2015 in Lagos

Imports plastics machniery

Very high Nigerian plast print pack technology imports

Nigeria is the most populous country in Africa and the seventh most populous country in the world (179 million inhabitants). Nigeria also stands for an abundance of natural resources such as oil, gas and agricultural land and an attractive and fast growing consumer market. The Nigerian plastics, printing and packaging industry attracts massive private and public investment. Against this backdrop the German trade fair specialists fairtrade launch plastprintpack Nigeria. The 1st International Trade Show on Plastics, Composites, Chemistry and Printing & Packaging Solutions is scheduled for 28 to 30 April 2015 at the brand-new Landmark Convention Centre in Lagos, Nigeria.

The German trade show specialists fairtrade launch plastprintpack Nigeria at the brand-new Landmark Convention Centre in Lagos on 28-30 April 2015. The Heidelberg based organisers have a wealth of experience in organizing professional plast print pack shows as they also organise plast & printpack alger in Algeria (with 150 exhibitors from 23 countries and more than 2,500 visitors) and have just recently held plastprintpack & agrofood West Africa in Accra, Ghana last December featuring 81 exhibitors and 1,326 visitors.
„The idea to launch a professional platform especially for the Nigerian business community was brought up by the exhibitors and the organisers of national pavilions at our plastprintpack & agrofood West Africa 2013 in Accra last December“, says Martin März, fairtrade“s CEO. „Then we presented the project at a meeting with the economic counsellors of Austria, Belgium, Finland, France, Germany, Italy, the Netherlands, Spain and Sweden in Lagos this February and received an all-around positive feed-back. Therefore we are excited to create this new major platform for our long-term customers.“

To create valuable synergies for exhibitors and visitors alike, plastprintpack Nigeria is held in conjunction with agrofood Nigeria, the 1st International Trade Show on Agriculture & Livestock, Food, Beverage & Packaging Technology and Food, Beverages & Hospitality.

As Austria is already committed to participate with a group of companies, the Commercial Counsellor with the Austrian Embassy in Lagos, Ms Nella Hengstler, points out: „Nigeria will be the next global manufacturing hub. The sheer size of Nigeria“s market combined with its large and young work force will attract massive investments in the manufacturing industry. Machines and production materials will continue to be imported, though. I therefore welcome and support plastprintpack & agrofood Nigeria 2015 as it is important for European suppliers to be on ground early before the real run on Nigeria starts“.
The partners of fairtrade in Nigeria are AHK Nigeria-the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Nigeria and the Nigerian-German Business Association-NGBA. Andre Rönne, delegate of AHK and general manager of NGBA points out: „Increasing prosperity and the rapidly increasing population numbers are the consumer-promoting factors in Nigeria, which is also reflected by investments into the construction of shopping malls and the food processing and food packaging industry. The plastprintpack & agrofood Nigeria comes at exactly the right time, and we look forward to a constructive and successful cooperation with the fairtrade team. „

The figures of VDMA-The German Engineering Association confirm the growing investments. The Nigerian imports of plastics machinery went up from 52 million Euros to 83 million Euros in the years 2010 to 2012, an increase of 59 per cent. Printing and paper technology imports rose from 39 million Euros to 52 million Euros, a plus of 33 per cent. An increase by 69 per cent was recorded by packaging machinery; imports grew from 85 million Euros to 144 million Euros.

Experts frequently describe Nigeria as the economic powerhouse in West Africa, because it is the 2nd largest economy in Africa, expected to overtake South Africa in the near future and expected to become one of the world’s Top 20 economies by 2050. The country ranks 13 on the list of the largest oil producing countries, well ahead of Norway, Algeria, Angola, Kazakhstan and Qatar.

„We will make the stay in Lagos comfortable for our exhibitors as we organize a shuttle-service from the airport to the Four Points Sheraton Hotel, and from there on a daily basis to and from the Landmark Convention Centre“, says Dominik Rzepka, head of PR with fairtrade.

The brand-new Landmark Convention Centre is strategically positioned on the grounds of Landmark Village, a spectacular beach front location extending over 9.4 acres on Victoria Island, the heart of the vibrant and lively Lagos business district. Lying in close proximity to the British International School, Four Points Sheraton Hotel, Oriental Hotel, The Palms Shopping Mall, Exxon Mobil HQ and Diamond Bank HQ, this location makes it easily accessible from anywhere in the city. The Landmark Village develops over 300 meters of beachfront overlooking the Atlantic Ocean and accommodating also the Hard Rock Cafe and the Shiro Japanese Restaurant.

The Landmark Convention Centre provides modern and flexible exhibiting and conferencing solutions with a ceiling height of 14m, power connections provided at every 6m throughout the hall through underground electrical cabling network, five spacious meeting rooms and two larger conference rooms of varying sizes from 8 to 150 attendees and catering operated by Silver Plates, a top-notch international F&B chain.

Exclusivity was agreed: AHK Algeria will accompany no further exhibitions in the industries concerned during the term of the contract.

The German-Algerian Chamber of Industry and Commerce – AHK Algeria and the German trade show organizer fairtrade intensify their cooperation. This has just been agreed between the managing directors Dr. Christoph J. Partsch and Martin März.

The agreement covers the 3rd International trade fair for the plastics industry „plast alger 2014“, the 4th International trade fair for the printing and packaging industry, „printpack alger 2014“, both taking place concurrently on 6-8 April 2014 at the Palais des Expositions – Safex in Algiers. The contract also covers the 8th International Trade Fair for Renewable and Conventional Energy, Energy Efficiency, Electrical Engineering and Automation „electro, automation & energy 2014“ from 18th to 20th May 2014.

„The German-Algerian team of fairtrade already organizes professional trade fairs in Algeria since 2001 and has long been perceived as a synonym for German trade fair quality here“, says the managing director of the AHK Algeria, Dr. Christoph J. Partsch. „We are very pleased to further strengthen cooperation with fairtrade and to support the fairs with our expertise in Algeria.“
The collaboration focuses on offering opportunities to German and Algerian exhibitors and sponsors. Cooperation is also targeted for conferences accompanying the fair as well as the public relations ahead of the events. Exclusivity was agreed: AHK Algeria will accompany no further exhibitions in the industries concerned during the term of the contract.

fairtrade’s managing director Martin März: „The AHK Algeria regularly leads Algerian delegations to the „K“, „drupa“, „Interpack“ and „Intersolar“, the cornerstone of an extensive network in the sectors concerned. We expect further synergies to the benefit of our exhibitors and trade visitors from the expertise of the AHK in its areas of competence Industry & Automotive and Renewable Energy & Energy Efficiency.

The exhibitions will take place against the backdrop of fast-growing Algerian imports. Imports of energy and electrical engineering technology for instance have grown from 2.678 billion euros in 2010 to 3.219 billion euros in 2012.

The Algerian plastics industry is one of the fastest growing and most important sectors in the country. In addition, Algeria has now become the fourth-most important importer of plastic machines on the African continent, just behind South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria. This increase reflects the enormous potential of one of the world’s major oil and gas producers.

Algeria among Africa’s top 4 importers of plastics, packaging and printing technology

Algeria among Africa

plast & printpack alger 2012

International trade show plast alger & printpack alger from 6-8 April 2014 in Algiers

(Heidelberg, Germany) A rise of Algerian imports in plastics machinery by 38 per cent, in packaging machines by 36 per cent and in printing equipment by 48 per cent in 2012. It is against this background, that Algeria“s 3rd international trade fair for the plastics industry, plast alger, and the 4th printpack alger for the printing and packaging technology takes place. This international industry meeting is organised by the trade fair specialists fairtrade and their German-Algerian team. The Palais des Expositions – SAFEX in Algiers opens its gates for exhibitors and trade visitors from 6 to 8 April 2014.

„According to VDMA-The German Engineering Association, exports of plastics machinery to Algeria have increased in 2012 by 38 per cent to 99.8 million US dollars,“ says Martin März, CEO of the show organiser fairtrade. März further: „Algeria has become the fourth major importer in this field on the African continent, ranking just behind South Africa, Egypt and Nigeria. This increase reflects the enormous potential of one of the world“s major oil and gas producer.“

The continuously growing import figures for the last three years show that this is a sustainable development of the Algerian industry. The main suppliers of plastics machinery to Algeria are Germany, China, France, Italy, Canada, Austria, Taiwan, Spain and Switzerland.

In imports of packaging and printing technology Algeria is now even third place in Africa, ahead of Nigeria, and just behind South Africa and Egypt. The Algerian imports of packaging machinery went up from 139.2 million US dollars in 2011 to 189.6 million in 2012, an increase of 36 per cent. Imports of printing technology have even risen in the same period by 48.4 per cent, from 67.7 to 92.7 million US dollars.

Due to the large demand for exhibition space plast & printpack alger 2014 move to a larger hall within the exhibition centre in Algiers. The new venue is the Pavilion A, the so called French pavilion. It offers a central location and the larger area and it also has the advantage that plast & printpack alger can obtain their own areas each.

According to the organisers the high demand is justified with the success of the last edition in 2012. The 104 exhibitors from 17 countries were extremely satisfied with the quality of the 2,388 trade visitors.

For the 2014 edition Dominik Rzepka, Marketing and Public Relations Manager at fairtrade, expects a renewed increase in the quantity and quality of visitors. Reasons for this are further increasing momentum on the Algerian market, the strong institutional support in Algeria as well as close cooperation with major European partners such as the AHK Algeria – German-Algerian Chamber of Industry and Commerce, the Austrian Chamber of Commerce Advantage Austria, the Milan Chamber of Commerce Promos and the Spanish Plastics Federation AVEP.

plastprintpack West Africa 2013 from 3 – 5 December in Accra, Ghana

According to VDMA-The German Engineering Association, the imports of plastics, printing and packaging machinery and equipment to West Africa in 2011 increased by up to 75 per cent. Against this backdrop the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana will open its gates from 3 to 5 December 2013 the 1st plastprintpack West Africa. The International Trade Show on Plastics, Composites, Chemistry and Printing & Packaging Solutions and Material is organised by the trade fair specialist fairtrade Messe from Germany.

Among the ECOWAS-The Economic Community of West African States as a regional group of 15 West African countries, Ghana has developed into a „Donor darling“ of the international giver community. This success is founded on political and economic stability. Further on Ghana belongs to the out-performers in Subsahara-Africa, with gdp-growth rates of considerably more than 7 per cent (ECOWAS average: 5%). This growth is driven by divert industry sectors. Private investments into the branches of oil and gas, mining, agriculture, food processing industry, retailing and energy as well as public investments into infrastructural projects made Ghana an important hub for business with West Africa. (Source: GTAI – Wirtschaftstrends Ghana 2012/13, January 2013). According to Martin März, managing director with fairtrade, Ghana is the ideal venue for this leading cross-border trade show.

As stated in the study of GTAI, growing population, increase in consumer consumption as well as the great distance between West Africa and the major consumer goods industries in Europe and South Africa, make a local production certainly worthwhile. These tendencies are supported by the import figures of VDMA for plastics, printing and packaging machinery and equipment into the ECOWAS countries. Compared to the year 2010 the imports in the plastics sector grew by 37.7 per cent from 96.9 up to 133.5 million Euros. A rise from 36.7 to 64.5 million Euros represents an increase of 75.7 per cent in imports of printing machinery and equipment. And in the same period, the imports in the packaging sector to the ECOWAS states increased by 52.1 per cent up to 223.3 million Euros.

Industry experts agree that this is not the end of this development. „I am convinced: in 10 years from now we will witness the great Africa boom. By then, for us working in the field of packaging technology, business-wise the continent will play a similarly important role as Asia does today,“ claims Friedbert Klefenz, President of Bosch Packaging Technology and Chairman of the board of the packaging machinery sector within VDMA.

The trade fair specialist fairtrade Messe recognized this potential and launch the plastprintpack West Africa. The 1st International Trade Show on Plastics, Composites, Chemistry and Printing & Packaging Solutions and Material is scheduled to be held from 3 – 5 December 2013 at the Accra International Conference Centre in Accra, Ghana. According to the organisers this event will be the „place-to-be“, to meet buyers from West Africa as well as technology leaders from Europa, Asia and America. Two decades of experience in organising trade fairs and a strong institutional partner AHK- Delegation of German Industry and Commerce in Ghana make these targets realistic.

To create valuable synergies for exhibitors and visitors alike, printpackplast West Africa is held in conjunction with agrofood West Africa, the 1st International Trade Show on Agriculture & Livestock, Food, Beverage & Packaging Technology and Food, Beverages & Hospitality.
