about the musicians:

MARS WILLIAMS is one of the true saxophone players–someone who takes pleasure in the sheer act of blowing the horn. This tremendous enthusiasm is an essential part of his sound, and it comes through each note every time he plays. Whatever the situation, Mars plays exciting music. In many ways he has succeeded in redefining what versatility means to the modern saxophone player. – John Zorn, USA

WACLAW ZIMPEL’s name goes straight into the list of European jazzmen that gave new life to clarinet and bass clarinet, continuing Dolphy“s example: Surman, Sclavis, Trovesi, and the like. – Francesco Martinelli, Point Of Departure, USA, 2010
Polish composer/clarinetist Wacaw Zimpel is one of the most promising musicians from the European continent. – Eyal Hareuveni, All About Jazz, USA, 2012

HILLIARD GREENE’s fabulous arco bass mixes lyricism with a burning, literally ferocious desire of opening the listener’s mind. – Massimo Ricci, Touching Extremes, Italy, 2007
I found his composition to be extraordinary in its depth of emotion. Hill“s remarkable virtuosity and passion on his instrument and spiritual awareness was ever present throughout. – Margot Elizabeth Meyers, Jazz Improv, NY, USA, 2006

KLAUS KUGEL is one of Central Europe’s busiest and most articulate modern jazz drummers … he treads the boundary between inside and outside playing in a particularly incisive way; always listening and never getting caught up in his own considerable chops. – Dave Wayne, AllAboutJazz, USA, 2013
These three discs … show Kugel as a drummer whose nearly boundless energy and imagination cannot be confined by neat categories. – Ed Hazel, Signal To Noise, USA, 2006

New trade show for Ukraine’s plast and packaging industry

New trade show for Ukraine

German and Ukrainian trade show specialists fairtrade and Euroindex launch UkrPlastik in September 2014

(Heidelberg, Germany) Ukraine“s 1st International trade show on plastics and packaging technology and material is scheduled for 23-25 September 2014 at the KyivExpoPlaza in Kiev. UkrPlastik 2014 takes place on the background of fast growing Ukrainian imports of plastics and packaging technology. This B2B event is organised by two well experienced organisers, the German trade fair specialists fairtrade and their Ukrainian partner Euroindex of Kiev.

According to VDMA-The German Engineering Association, Ukrainian imports of plastics machinery and equipment, in 2012, have increased by 13.4% to 57.2 million Euro compared to 50.4 million Euro in 2011 and 51.9 million Euro in 2010. Germany, China, Italy, Taiwan, Japan, Poland, Switzerland, Russia, France, Turkey, Austria, Hungary, India, the United Kingdom, South Korea and Spain have been the major supplier countries. „The Ukrainian market for plastics technology is one of the most important ones in Eastern Europe“, says Martin März, Managing Director with fairtrade.

The constantly high import volume of packaging machinery and equipment (114.1 million Euros in 2012) underlines this statement additionally. Here Germany, Italy, the United Kingdom, Spain, Poland, France, Russia, Bulgaria, Austria, China, Switzerland, Sweden, Czech Republic, Israel, Luxemburg, Lithuania, South Korea, Denmark, the Netherlands, Hungary, India, Slovakia, Slovenia and the USA have been the main supplier countries.

UkrPlastik 2014 will be organised in parallel to the two long-established Euroindex shows on Digital Printing – T-REX and on Advertising – REX, with 12,370 registered trade visitors and 176 exhibitors from 7 countries in 2012.

In-depth knowledge of the Ukrainian market and of the plastics and packaging industry are the foundation for the successful launch of UkrPlastik in September 2014. Since 1997, fairtrade and Euroindex use to jointly organise elcomUkraine, Central Europe’s largest energy and electrical engineering trade fair featuring 412 exhibitors and 11,282 registered trade visitors in April 2013. In addition fairtrade has a wealth of experience in organising international plastics and packaging technology trade fairs in Asia and Africa.

The Polish mobile market is closer and closer to the Western Europe

The Polish mobile market is closer and closer to the Western Europe

infographic, poland, germany

The average smartphone penetration in Europe is about 57 per cent. But the more to the East we look, the ratio is lower and lower. While in Germany it“s 51 per cent, in Poland – according to the newest research – it“s only 25 per cent. But still, in both Germany and Poland, there“s the same level of views of mobile websites and it“s about 10 per cent.

In the comScore reports such countries as Great Britain, Spain, France, Italy and Germany are called the Region EU5. Why? Because in these European countries the smartphone market share is the largest.
2 out 3 people in Spain have smartphones, while in Germany, the smartphones are chosen by 71 percent of total phone buyers. In Poland it“s slightly more than 50 per cent.
But there are some advantages though. If we look at the mobile operation systems market share, we can easily notice that Poles aren“t the very fans of Symbian (7 per cent of Poles have it in their Phones), while in Germany the ratio is twice as high (almost 15 per cent).
The Polish smartphone owners have mostly smartphones with Android (63 per cent, in Germany – 53,4 per cent) and with iOS (25,6 per cent, while in Germany – 21,8 per cent).
All that means that the Poles really get the main needs of mobile market in the Western Europe. The dynamic development of Polish mobile market enable us to draw a conclusion that in some aspects it“s catching up with the markets of Region EU5.
The Poles download lesser mobile apps because they are quite smaller nation (with the population of 38 milion vs 82 milion in Germany) and they make less money (with the average monthly wage about 850 EUR vs. 3500 EUR in Germany).
That means one more thing: the average cost of mobile app development in Poland is noticeably lower than in Germany.
„Here in Poland it“s about 8k EUR, while in Germany it“s really more expensive – about 23k EUR“ – says Piotr Krauschar, managing partner in mobile agency Mobberry .
„But on the other hand, this price difference has no impact on the usage of the newest technologies, such as Augmented Reality or on the process of designing our own solutions based for instance on RFID http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ooHgJ6ElfA4“ – says Krauschar.

Mobberry is about connecting people with brands via creative technologies. We are a group of experienced guys developing „out-of-the-box“ ideas. From Insight & Research to Strategy, from Creative Ideas to Implementation – that“s how we work here.
You don“t need to know what do terms like NFC, RFID, QR codes, augmented reality, mobile apps, online/offline projects or SocialTV mean. Leave it to us!
We think and work globally, but can be reached locally ;) You can catch us in our Warsaw HQ, our London office or simply drop us an e-mail!

EUROPART acquisition in Poland

EUROPART acquisition in Poland

Pierre Fleck, CEO of the EUROPART Group and Karol Prozner, Managing Director of the EUROPART Polska S.A.

Acquisition of the majority shareholding in EUROPART Polska

Hagen/Wielun, 15/01/2013. EUROPART is expanding its presence in one of the largest European transport markets. The European market leader in the trade of spare parts for commercial vehicles and workshop supplies today acquired the majority of shares in the joint company EUROPART Polska SA, which were previously held by its joint venture partner. Today, at the Polish headquarters in Wielun, Pierre Fleck, CEO of the EUROPART Group, along with the Polish national manager and joint venture partner, Karol Prozner, announced the acquisition of the company, which was founded in 2008 as a joint venture in which both partners held fifty per cent.

Karol Prozner will continue to be associated with the subsidiary as a minority shareholder, and using his expertise and knowledge of the country, will continue to be involved in the management of the company. At the signing of the contract and announcement, both parties judged the acquisition to be a clear sign of the excellent partnership between EUROPART and the Prozner family.

At the employees‘ meeting held today in Wielun to mark the acquisition, Pierre Fleck welcomed approximately 100 employees of the Polish subsidiary, who are now, thanks to the acquisition, fully fledged employees of the EUROPART Group. Pierre Fleck: „I am convinced that the full integration of the Polish subsidiary will be a complete success. This acquisition will develop the company’s synergies far beyond the Polish borders.“

Poland plays a central role in the new EUROPART strategy. The acquisition of the shares in the Polish joint venture partner is a clear example of this. The synergy resulting from the acquisition will strengthen EUROPART’s market position not only in Poland, but also in several of its neighbouring countries. German sales areas close to the border will therefore benefit from the logistics of the Polish subsidiaries in the border region. This will further improve customer service in Germany. The Polish acquisition will also have a positive impact on the EUROPART subsidiaries in the Baltic States and the Czech Republic where, thanks to their proximity to Polish distribution centres, branches and customers will be able to receive products tailored to the regional market more quickly. Secondly, EUROPART will benefit from an increase in the central purchasing volume as well as from an optimisation of logistics operations from the full integration of the Polish subsidiary.

EUROPART CEO Pierre Fleck added: „Poland is only the first acquisition made by EUROPART since it was taken over by the new owners Triton and Paragon. We are determined to continue on this path towards growth and look for further profitable investment opportunities. Our industry will continue to move towards consolidation, a process which EUROPART, as the market leader in the European trade of spare parts for commercial vehicles, will help to form.“ Thanks to its pan-European network, EUROPART has a unique profile in today’s overall market. We will continue to expand and reinforce this profile in close cooperation with and for the benefit of our European customers.“

EUROPART in Poland

In addition to the country headquarters in Wielun, EUROPART is currently represented in Poland in a further 23 locations. In 2012, the company recorded a turnover of around 26 million euros and is one of Poland’s leading dealers in spare parts for commercial vehicles. The company originally started out trading replacement parts for trucks and trailers. Since 2008, the Polish company has become a technical expert for trucks and trailers through its connection with the Hagener EUROPART Group.

EUROPART is the leading dealer in spare parts and accessories for commercial vehicles, buses and special vehicles in Europe. Moreover, EUROPART provides a wide range of products of workshop equipment for its main client groups such as workshop clients, shipping and fleet companies including all fields of chemical equipment, workshop equipment and facilities, fastening equipment, job safety facilities for the everyday business operation.
Since 2011 EUROPART is owned by Triton and Paragon. Triton is specialized on investments of leading medium sized companies in German speaking countries and Northern Europe.
In 2011, the EUROPART Group’s annual sales totalled around EUR 420 million.
