Die tde – trans data elektronik GmbH erweitert ihr Portfolio hoch leistungsfähiger und skalierbarer Plug-and-play-Verkabelungslösungen um die neue tML-Systemplattform: Das jüngste Produkt des Netzwerkspezialisten ist die konsequente Weiterentwicklung des bewährten, modular aufgebauten tML-Verkabelungssystems. Der neue Modulträger mit einer Aufnahmekapazität von bis zu acht Modulen der Produktreihen tML Standard, tML Xtended und tML 24 ist besonders montagefreundlich. Bei voller Bestückung bietet er auf einer 19-Zoll-Höheneinheit (1HE) Platz für 96x LWL LC-Duplex Ports mit 192 Fasern, 96x 12-Faser-MPO mit insgesamt 1152 Fasern oder 96x 24-Faser-MPO mit 2304 Fasern. Maximale Packungsdichte und größte Flexibilität bei der Migration zu hohen Übertragungsraten erreicht der Modulträger in Kombination mit dem innovativen tML 24. Diese enorm hohe Packungsdichte in Kombination mit der schnellen, werkzeuglosen Bestückung durch die ausziehbare Schublade und den rückseitigen Snap-In-Mechanismus ist branchenweit einzigartig. Eine optional erhältliche frontseitige Abdeckung sorgt für eine geordnete und geschützte Patchkabelführung.

Zeit- und Platzmangel zählen zu den besonderen Herausforderungen, denen RZ-Verantwortliche heutzutage gegenüberstehen. Mit der neu entwickelten und besonders montagefreundlichen tML-Systemplattform hat tde eine Lösung entwickelt, die diesen Ansprüchen begegnet: Bei voller Bestückung mit acht Modulen kann der neue 19-Zoll-Modulträger bis zu 96x LWL LC-Duplex Ports mit 192 Fasern, 96x 12-Faser-MPO mit 1152 Fasern oder 96x 24-Faser-MPO mit 2304 Fasern aufnehmen. Denkbar sind auch Belegungen mit 16-Faser-MPO, 32-Faser-MPO, 72-Faser-MPO und sogar 96-Faser-MPO. Innerhalb eines Modulträgers lassen sich unterschiedliche Module mit LWL- und Kupfer-Ports, beispielsweise RJ45, kombinieren. Es sind sogar ältere Anschlusstechnologien wie SC, ST oder E2000 integrierbar.

„Diese Packungsdichte ist derzeit am Markt einzigartig“, erklärt Andre Engel, Geschäftsführer der tde und fährt fort: „Da sich die Module jederzeit einfach und leicht tauschen lassen, ist die neue tML-Systemplattform die erste Wahl, wenn es um die Migration zu hohen Übertragungsraten wie 40 oder 100G und mehr geht. Dies ist vor allem in Kombination mit unserem tML-24-System der Fall.“ Bei diesem System basiert die gesamte Rückraumverkabelung auf dem 24-Faser-Stecker. Dafür hat der Netzwerkexperte Trunkkabel und Module des mehrfach patentierten, modular aufgebauten tML-Verkabelungssystems mit MPO-24-Faser-Steckern kombiniert. Er bietet im Gegensatz zum baugleichen MPO-12-Faser-Stecker zwei Reihen zu jeweils zwölf Fasern und damit die doppelte Faserzahl, wodurch er eine noch kompaktere Performance auf kleinstem Raum schafft. „Damit stellen wir Unternehmen ein unschlagbares System für Investitionsschutz bei gleichzeitig höchster Performance und Flexibilität bei der Verkabelung für alle Anwendungsszenarien zur Verfügung“, sagt Andre Engel.

Werkzeuglos installieren

Zur einfachen Bestückung hat die tde den Modulträger als Schublade gestaltet. Diese lässt sich nach vorne herausziehen oder ganz herausnehmen. Dadurch können IT-Mitarbeiter die Module innerhalb kürzester Zeit von hinten bestücken und verkabeln. Die Befestigung der Module erfolgt werkzeuglos durch eine rückseitige SnapIn-Verriegelung, die gleichzeitig der Erdungskontaktierung dient. Der Federmechanismus befindet sich im Inneren der Schublade. Die Schublade wird in 19-Zoll-Befestigungsohren geführt und verriegelt. „Bei der Entwicklung der neuen Systemplattform haben wir bewusst auf ein werkzeugloses Handling geachtet. Unser Anliegen war, Anwendern eine schnelle und einfache Implementierung mit verkürzten Installationszeiten zu ermöglichen“, erläutert Andre Engel.

Integrierte Kabelführung

Die neue Systemplattform bietet zudem ein integriertes Patchkabelmanagement und lässt sich optional mit einer frontseitigen Abdeckung zur besseren horizontalen Patchkabelführung und zum Schutz der Ports bestücken. Außerdem besitzt der neue Modulträger eine bereits integrierte Kabelabfangung auf der Rückseite. Zusätzliche Komponenten sind nicht nötig. Auch hier profitieren Anwender von reduzierten Installationszeiten. Die neue Systemplattform ist uneingeschränkt rückwärtskompatibel und für alle am Markt eingesetzten tML-Module darunter das tML Standard, tML Xtended und tML 24 nutzbar.

Das tML – tde Modular Link-System

tML ist ein patentiertes, modular aufgebautes Verkabelungssystem, das aus den drei Kernkomponenten Modul, Trunkkabel und Modulträger besteht. Die Systemkomponenten sind zu 100 Prozent in Deutschland gefertigt, vorkonfektioniert und getestet. Sie ermöglichen vor Ort – insbesondere in Rechenzentren aber auch in industriellen Umgebungen – eine Plug-und-play-Installation innerhalb kürzester Zeit. Das Herz des Systems sind die rückseitigen MPO/MTP- und Telco-Steckverbinder, über die mindestens sechs bzw. 12 Ports mit 10 GbE beziehungsweise GbE-Performance auf einmal verbunden werden können. New tML System Platform: Maximum Packing Density, Simple Assembly

Dortmund, 28th September 2017. With its new tML system platform, tde – trans data elektronik is expanding its portfolio of high-performance scalable plug-and-play cabling solutions. The latest product of the network specialist is the logical next step in developing reliable, modular tML cabling systems. The new rack mount enclosure is especially easy to assemble and, on a height unit of 19 inches (= 1 height unit), has a mounting capacity of up to eight modules from the product lines tML Standard, tML Xtended and tML 24. In combination with the innovative tML 24, the new rack mount enclosure reaches maximum packing density and is highly flexible when migrating to high transmission rates. The massive packing density, coupled with the fast, tool-free assembly via an extendable tray as well as the snap-in mechanism in the rear are unique in the industry. An optional cover for the front manages and protects the patch cables routing.

Lack of time and space are the problems which data centre operators have to face nowadays. With the newly developed and easy-to-assemble tML system platform, tde has developed a solution which can easily face these challenges: Fully equipped with eight modules, the new 19 inch rack mount enclosure is capable of housing 96x fibre-optic LC duplex ports with 192 fibres, 96x 12-fibre MPO with 1152 fibres or 96x 24-fibre MPO with 2304 fibres. Equipping the rack mount enclosure with 6-fibre MPO, 32-fibre MPO, 72-fibre MPO and even 96-fibre MPO is also possible. Different modules with fibre-optic and copper ports, such as RJ45, can be combined in one individual rack mount enclosure. Older connection technologies such as SC, ST or E2000 can also be integrated.

„The packing density is currently unique in the industry“, explains Andre Engel, CEO of tde. „As the modules can be easily switched and exchanged at any time, the new tML system platform is always the number one choice when high transmission rates such as 40 or 100G and more are required. This is especially the case in combination with our tML 24 system.“ The rear cabling of that specific system is based on the 24-fibre connector. The network expert has used trunk cables and modules of the multiply patented, modular tML cabling system and combined them with MPO 24-fibre connectors for that purpose. In contrast with the structurally identical MPO 12-fibre connector, they offer twice the number of fibres with two rows of 12-fibres each, enabling an even more compact performance with minimal space requirements. „We offer companies an unbeatable system in order to protect their investments while at the same time providing peak performance and flexibility for every feasible application scenario“, says Andre Engel.

Tool-free installation

In order to easily equip the rack mount enclosure, tde designed it as an extendable tray, which can be pulled out at the front or even removed completely. This enables IT employees to easily work on assembling modules and cabling on the rear side. No tools are required for mounting the modules, which are secured via a snap-in lock also functioning as a grounding point. The spring mechanism is located inside of the extendable tray. The tray is guided and locked into place by 19 inch mounting tubes. „While developing the new system platform we paid special attention to tool-free handling. Our goal was to allow for a quick and easy implementation with reduced installation times“, explains Andre Engel.

Integrated cable routing

The new system platform also offers integrated patch cable management and can be combined with an optional front cover to enhance the horizontal cable routing and to protect the ports. The new rack mount enclosure also possesses an integrated cable catch on the rear side. Additional components are not necessary. Users profit from reduced installation times here as well. The new system platform has unlimited backwards compatibility for all tML modules on the market, including tML Standard, tML Xtended and tML 24.

The tML – tde Modular Link-System

tML is a patented, modular cabling system, that consists of the three key components module, trunk cable and rack mount enclosure. All of the system components are to 100 percent produced, pre-assembled and tested in Germany. The on-site plug-and-play installation is very simple and straightforward, especially in data centres, as well as other industrial environments. The centrepieces of the system are the MPO/MTP- and Telco connector cables on the rear side, which make it possible to connect at least six or 12 ports with 10 GbE or GbE performance at once. The fibre-optic and TP modules can be used jointly in one single rack mount enclosure with high port density. tde’s tML cabling system can be acquired as the proven tML standard system as well as in the innovative variants tML Xtended and tML 24 with extremely high scalability and easy migration to higher transmission rates such as 40G and 100G+.

The company Mods4cars now offers a smart convertible top solution for the new Mercedes-Benz S-Class (A217) cabriolet. The retrofit SmartTOP module allows, among other things, the operation of the convertible top via the console button via One-Touch. For the opening and closing of the roof it is thereby no longer necessary to hold down the button continuously. A brief tap is sufficient and the convertible top movement is carried out automatically.

Furthermore, the SmartTOP module makes it possible to operate the roof via the original vehicle key from a distance. Pressing a key combination on the remote control automatically opens or closes the soft top. „The SmartTOP customer can already open the convertible top as they approach their vehicle and start their journey top down,“ explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow. A change to the car key is not required.

In addition, the latest development from Mods4cars has numerous additional features: The windows can be opened and closed by remote. It is adjustable whether windows should be raised after opening the top. With the window button in the center console all windows can be closed with One-Touch.

For vehicles with a keyless entry package, the top can be opened and closed by touching the door latch. On special request, the function „tear-wipe“ was also added. After the use of the spray nozzles, wipers will wipe once or twice more after a short break.

All functions of the SmartTOP roof module can be programmed according to personal wishes. A USB port attached to the SmartTOP module makes it possible to connect to the home PC/MAC. In this way software updates can be implemented, which Mods4cars provides free of charge.

The SmartTOP soft top control is supplied with a plug-and-play cable kit, which ensures an easy installation. The connection between the vehicle electronics and the SmartTOP is made by simply plugging together. For 100% accuracy, plugs are used in original equipment manufacturer quality. Since no cables are cut through, the cabriolet module can be completely dismantled as required.

Since 2001, Mods4cars has been producing roof control add-on systems for all common cabriolet models. The retrofit SmartTOP roof module for the Ferrari 488 Spider is now available. The newest development from the company Mods4cars provides crafty additional functions thereby facilitating the everyday use of the convertible. „With the new SmartTOP for Ferrari 488, we now support 5 Ferrari models,“ explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow. For Ferrari models 360, F430 Spider, California and 458 Spider SmartTOP modules are already offered.

The SmartTOP soft top control is retrofitted in the vehicle. After installation, the roof can be opened and closed from a distance using the existing car key. Pressing a key combination on the existing remote control activates the convertibles top movement. „This allows our customers to open their convertible tops while they are moving towards their vehicle,“ says PR spokesman Sven Tornow. There is no need to change the remote control for this function.

In addition, one-touch operation of the convertible top is also made possible while driving. With the installed SmartTOP module, only a tap on the soft top button in the interior is required. The convertible top movement is then executed automatically. This saves time and the driver has both hands back on the steering wheel quicker.

The SmartTOP provides additional features: position of the windows can be determined after the convertibles top movement. All windows can be opened and closed via the remote control. The functions can be configured according to personal requirements.

Starting or stopping the engine does not interrupt the convertible top movement. Thanks to a USB port attached to the SmartTOP module, it can be connected to the local PC and programmed. Programming can also be done directly in the vehicle.

A plug-and-play cable kit included in delivery provides for easy installation. The connection between the SmartTOP module and the vehicle electronics is made by simply plugging in the perfectly fitting connectors. No cables are cut through, which means that a traceless dismantling is possible at any time.

As of August 2017, the SmartTOP roof control system by Mods4cars will be available for the new models of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (A205) and S-Class (A217). The retrofitted module provides clever functions, which makes the convertibles operation more comfortable.

The SmartTOP roof module makes the opening and closing of the roof via the vehicle key possible from a distance. The SmartTOP customer can open the top of their convertible while heading toward their vehicle. For this, only a short key combination on the key fob is required.

Furthermore, the SmartTOP module makes One-Touch-Top-Control possible while driving. With just one push of a button in the interior the convertibles top movement is activated. It is thereby no longer necessary to continuously hold down the button. So, hands are faster back on the steering wheel.

The latest development from Mods4cars will also contain useful additional features. For example, windows can be operated via the vehicles remote control. Starting and stopping the engine does not interrupt the convertible top movement. In addition, the control can be deactivated as required.

Each module can be programmed according to the personal wishes via any PC. For this reason, a USB port is attached to the SmartTOP module. With it you can also download software updates that Mods4cars provides, unlimited, for free of charge.

Also included in delivery is a plug-in installation kit. This ensures easy installation. „The new SmartTOP soft top control for the Mercedes-Benz C- and S-Class is delivered with a plug-and-play wiring harness,“ explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow. „By simply plugging in, connection between the SmartTOP and the vehicles electronics takes place. No cables need to be cut through. Connectors in original OEM quality guarantee a 100% accuracy,“ Sven Tornow continues.

The convertible top control for the new models of the Mercedes-Benz C-Class (A205) and S-Class (A217) will be available from August 2017 onwards. For preceding models soft top control systems are already on offer.

The SmartTOP roof module for the new Mini Cabriolet F57 is now available. The latest development of the company, Mods4cars, provides smart functions for a more comfortable operation of the convertible top. With the SmartTOP module installed, among other functions, it is possible to open the sunroof and convertible top via the interior button with One-Touch. Thanks to the One-Touch function, a short tap on the top button in the interior is sufficient.

With one tap of the console button, the convertible top moves into the sunroof position. With two taps, the convertible top opens completely and the windows move to their pre-programmed position. The cumbersome pressing as well as the impractical operation of first having to open the sunroof, are thereby no longer necessary. You now have the option to decide whether the sunroof or the convertible top should be opened with just a press of a button.

In addition, the SmartTOP module allows the operation of the roof top from a distance via the original vehicle key. Pressing a combination of keys on the remote control automatically opens or closes the convertible top or sunroof. „The SmartTOP customer can open the soft top as they walk toward their vehicle and start their drive top down,“ says PR spokesman Sven Tornow. „This operation is carried out via the original vehicle key, which does not require any modification,“ Sven Tornow continues.

Aside from these main functions, the SmartTOP soft top module offers other additional functions. The windows can also be opened and closed from afar via the vehicles remote control. On vehicles with Keyless Entry, opening and closing the top is possible with a touch to the door handle.

The individual functions of the SmartTOP roof module can be programmed according to the customers personal wishes. Thanks to the sophisticated SmartTOP Cabriolet module, starting or stopping the engine does not interrupt the convertibles top movement. Furthermore, the module can be completely deactivated as required.

Thanks to the plug-in cable set included in delivery, installation can be done quickly and easily. Also, as no cables are cut, a traceless removal is possible at any time. A standard USB port is integrated into the SmartTOP soft top control. This allows the programming of the roof module via the home PC / Mac. Via the USB port, software updates can also be loaded, which are provided by Mods4cars free of charge.

The SmartTOP roof control system are also available for the Mini Convertibles R52 and R57. The retrofit SmartTOP roof module for the Ferrari 458 Spider is now available. The latest development from the company Mods4cars facilitates the convertible day with nifty additional functions. „In addition to the Ferrari 360, F430 Spider and California, we now offer a comfortable solution for the Ferrari 458 Spider,“ explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow.

The SmartTOP soft top control is retrofitted to the vehicle. After installation it is possible, among other things, to open and close the convertible top while driving at a speed of up to 40 km/h. For this, only the tapping of the interior button is required. The convertible top movement is performed automatically. This is a timesaver!

In addition, the roof can be opened and closed from afar via the car key. Pressing a key combination on the remote control activates the convertible top movement. „Our customers can already open their convertible tops as they move toward the vehicle and start their journey top down,“ says PR spokesman Sven Tornow. A change to the car key is not necessary for this function.

Other than the two main functions, further features are offered: The windows position can be set for after the convertibles top movement. It is adjustable whether the windows should automatically be raised or lowered after opening the top. In addition, the windows can be opened and closed via the remote control.

Starting or stopping the engine does not interrupt the convertibles top movement. All functions can be configured according to personal wishes. Thanks to a USB port attached to the SmartTOP module, the module can be connected to the home PC. Programming can however also be done directly in the vehicle.

A plug-and-play installation kit is included in the package to ensure easy installation. Connection between the SmartTOP module and vehicle electronics is made by simply plugging together. As no cables are cut through, an untraceable removal is possible at any time.

Dortmund/Germany, 17 January 2017. As of now, tde trans data elektronik GmbH is offering tML fibre-optic modules with full dust and laser protection with the same high packing density as before: During the plugging process, integrated shutters open automatically through a special mechanism and close again after the removal of the connector. As the shutters seal the ports dust-tight, external dust caps are no longer necessary. At the same time, the shutters protect the eyes from harmful laser beams. In contrast to other products available on the market, which only offer plastic shutters, tde couplings are equipped with shutters made of metal. In conjunction with Fault Finders, the shutters let harmless light beams pass through and make ports belonging together visible. tde tML fibre-optic modules with self-closing shutters are available for LC connector types of the product lines tML-Standard, tML Xtended and tML 24.

„Cleanliness plays a central role, especially in relation to high transmission rates in fibre-optic connection arrangements“, explains Andre Engel, CEO of tde. „But especially while on the job, network technicians are likely to forget about the dust caps after repatching, either because they are not available at the moment or have been lost altogether. However, dust contamination of the delicate connector end-faces of the ports is often the reason for performance losses and can, under certain circumstances, lead to the complete deterioration of the port.“

tde is able to remedy this situation: The new tML fibre-optic modules have ports with integrated shutters which open and close automatically during the plugging process, without even touching the ferrule of the connector being plugged in. The delicate connector end-faces are thus protected from contamination of any kind and the transmission rate remains consistently high. By permanently installing the shutters into their fibre-optic modules, tde has made external dust caps redundant. At the same time, the shutters serve as a protection from laser beams: Even when utilizing long range transceivers, the human eyes are never at risk. tde has made this possible through their use of metal instead of plastic shutters, which is unique in the industry. The metal shutters offer another advantage: If maintenance staff couple light via Fault Finder, the exiting light becomes harmless to the human eye and also makes ports which belong together visible. The integrated safety shutters in no way limits the packing density.

As of now, tde has tML fibre-optic modules with integrated safety shutters for LC connector types of the product lines tML-Standard, tML Xtended and tML 24 in its portfolio. The network expert is planning to offer its other fibre-optic products with LC adapters, which include splice boxes, with the option of shutter couplings.

The tML – tde modular link system

Dortmund, 17. Januar 2017. Die tde trans data elektronik GmbH bietet ab sofort tML LWL-Module mit vollwertigem Staub- und Laserschutz bei unverändert hoher Packungsdichte: Bei Steckvorgängen öffnen sich integrierte Klappen über einen speziellen Mechanismus automatisch und schließen sich wieder, wenn der Steckverbinder entfernt wird. Da die Klappen den Port staubdicht verschließen, sind externe Staubschutzkappen nicht mehr nötig. Zugleich schützt die Klappe die Augen vor schädlichem Laserlicht. Im Gegensatz zu anderen am Markt gängigen Produkten mit Klappen aus Kunststoff besitzen die tde-Kupplungen Schutzklappen aus Metall. In Verbindung mit Fault Findern lassen die Klappen dennoch unschädliches Licht durch und machen zusammengehörige Ports sichtbar. Die tde tML LWL-Module mit selbstschließenden Klappen gibt es für LC-Steckgesichter der Produktlinien tML-Standard, tML Xtended und tML 24.

„Sauberkeit spielt vor allem im Zusammenhang mit höheren Übertragungsraten in der LWL-Anschlusstechnik eine ganz zentrale Rolle“, erläutert Andre Engel, Geschäftsführer der tde und fährt fort: „Doch gerade im Feld vergessen Netzwerktechniker die Staubschutzkappen sehr häufig nach dem Umpatchen, weil diese gerade nicht verfügbar oder sogar verloren gegangen sind. Verschmutzungen durch Staub auf den empfindlichen Steckerendflächen der Ports sind jedoch oft der Grund für Leistungseinbußen und führen unter Umständen zu einer Zerstörung der Ports.“

Hier schafft die tde Abhilfe: Die neuen tML LWL-Module besitzen Ports mit integrierten Klappen, die sich bei Steckvorgängen automatisch öffnen und schließen, ohne die Ferrule des gesteckten Steckers zu berühren. Die empfindlichen Steckerendflächen werden so vor Verschmutzungen aller Art geschützt. Dadurch bleibt die Übertragungsqualität gleichmäßig hoch. Indem die tde die Klappen fest in ihre LWL-Module integriert hat, sind externe Staubschutzklappen nicht mehr nötig. Gleichzeitig dienen die Klappen als Laserschutz: Selbst beim Einsatz von Transceivern für große Reichweiten besteht niemals Gefahr für das menschliche Auge. Dies gelingt der tde durch den branchenweit einzigartigen Einsatz von Metall- statt Kunststoff-Klappen. Sie bieten einen weiteren Vorteil: Koppeln Wartungskräfte Licht über Fault Finder ein, tritt es für das menschliche Auge als unschädliches Licht aus und macht zusammengehörige Ports sichtbar. Die integrierten Schutzklappen schränken die Packungsdichte nicht ein.

Aktuell hat die tde tML LWL-Module mit integrierten Schutzklappen für die LC-Steckgesichter der Produktlinien tML Standard, tML Xtended und tML 24 in ihrem Portfolio. Der Netzwerkexperte plant in Kürze auch seine weiteren LWL-Produkte mit LC-Kupplungen, darunter Spleißboxen, optional mit Shutter-Kupplungen anzubieten.

Das tML – tde Modular Link-System

The latest SmartTOP module allows, among other things, operation of the convertible top via the console button via One-Touch. It is therefore no longer necessary to hold down the button during opening and closing of the roof top. A brief tap is sufficient and the convertible top movement is carried out automatically. This function ensures that the vehicle is used open more frequently.

In addition, the SmartTOP module makes it possible to use the rooftop operation via the original vehicle key from a distance. Pressing a short sequence of keys on the remote control automatically opens or closes the convertible top. „The SmartTOP customer starts the opening of the convertible top while walking toward the vehicle, gets in, starts the engine and starts the journey, top open,“ explains PR spokesman Sven Tornow. A change to the car key does not have to be made for this function.

The individual functions of the SmartTOP roof module are programmable according to the personal wishes of the customer. It is thus possible to adjust whether the windows should be raised or remain down after the convertible top movement. The windows can also be opened and closed via the remote control.

For vehicles with the Keyless-Go package the rooftop can be opened and closed by touching the door latch. To locate the vehicle, the headlights can be activated via the remote control. A short horn signal can sound confirming when the central locking system is actuated. In addition, it is also possible for the volume of the radio to always be muted when starting the vehicle.

Thanks to the sophisticated SmartTOP, starting or stopping the engine does not lead to any interruption of the convertible top movement. Furthermore, the module can be completely deactivated as required. Due to easy accessibility, the installation can be done quickly and easily. Since no cables are severed, a residue-free removal is possible at any time.

The configuration of the module can be carried out directly in the vehicle via the on-board computer. Other than that, a USB port is integrated into the SmartTOP top control. This allows the connection and thus the programming of the roof module possible via PC / Mac. Furthermore, software updates can be imported via the USB port, which are provided by Mods4cars, free of charge.
