PV monitoring: TGE and meteocontrol expand their business relationship

TGE chooses meteocontrol“s latest „VCOM“ technology to monitor solar systems in Italy

PV monitoring: TGE and meteocontrol expand their business relationship

(Source: @TGE S.r.l.)

Augsburg/Leini, 07/13/2017 – The monitoring systems made by meteocontrol GmbH have just achieved their next success: The Italian company TGE S.r.l. is now using the VCOM monitoring portal to control its 102 photovoltaic systems. The O&M provider also plans to integrate other existing systems into the latest portal solution and to equip new systems with meteocontrol hardware and software for its customers.

TGE currently manages 102 photovoltaic systems with an installed output of about 17,000 kWp under an O&M agreement. To create the most efficient monitoring system possible, the technical operational manager decided to combine all of the solar systems in the VCOM monitoring portal. „Thanks to our long working relationship with meteocontrol, our choice was obvious: We would switch from the previous system to the latest portal solution offered by meteocontrol,“ said Davide Forastiere, the Technical Director of TGE. Regardless of their size, components or monitoring systems, solar systems can be integrated with VCOM“s help. Because of this, TGE is planning to add 15 other existing systems to the platform. „The uniform monitoring solution enables us to monitor the entire system portfolio at once and integrate existing or new systems into the portal,“ Davide Forastiere said. „The operation management is now much more efficient, and we get the maximum energy yield for our customers.“

VCOM conducts comprehensive analyses and provides overviews that facilitate direct comparison of solar systems in a portfolio. „With the help of a sophisticated alarm system, operation management can react to malfunctions very quickly as well as uncover problems that could result in permanent yield losses,“ said Martin Schneider, the Managing Director of meteocontrol, in outlining the strengths of the remote monitoring system. „Our goal is to provide our customers with a portal that is always state of the art. In our efforts to achieve this goal, we are implementing new software features each month and installing the latest security updates to meet all requirements in terms of data security.“

Both companies are looking forward to the intense working relationship. „With meteocontrol, we have a partner who offers mature product solutions we can trust,“ said Davide Forastiere of TGE. „One thing in particular is useful: The local support of meteocontrol Italia.“ In addition to O&M services, TGE plans and erects solar systems. The company plans to equip 25 new PV plants with the meteocontrol monitoring system, consisting of data loggers from the blue“Log X series and the VCOM monitoring portal.

meteocontrol, EU headquarter based in Augsburg, Germany and APMEA headquarter based in Shanghai (China), with offices and branches in Chicago (U.S.A.), Lyon (France), Madrid (Spain) and Milan (Italy) offers energy and weather data management, yield reports, quality audits and technical due diligence as well as monitoring of PV systems of all sizes. meteocontrol has more than 40 years of expertise in renewable energy systems and has so far been involved in projects with a total investment volume of more than 13 billion Euros. In addition, meteocontrol is the market leader for professional remote monitoring of PV systems. meteocontrol monitors around 43,000 PV systems around the globe with a total power of over 12 GWp. meteocontrol is a member of SFCE Shunfeng International Clean Energy Limited.

Stern Energy opts for monitoring from meteocontrol

Retrofit for Italian PV O&M provider: Uniforming monitoring system on its O&M Portfolio

Stern Energy opts for monitoring from meteocontrol

(Source: @Stern Energy)

Augsburg/Parma, 07/11/2017 – Stern Energy S.p.a has reached a decision: The Italian O&M operator of photovoltaic systems will further rely on the monitoring platform of Germany-based meteocontrol GmbH to run operations on its portfolio. 25 MWp of the overall 195 MWp installed power that Stern Energy monitors and operates in Italy are already integrated in VCOM (virtual control room) and therefore can be monitored and controlled by means of the central platform. Stern Energy receives direct, on-site support in the Italian language by meteocontrol Italia S.r.l.

„We want to provide our customers with optimal systems performance and maximum returns, while working effectively and cost-efficiently,“ explains Stefan Torri, CEO of Stern Energy. „That is why we decided to place all the solar parks onto one monitoring platform. The first 25 MWp have already been integrated in the VCOM central monitoring portal and another almost 30 MWp are currently in the project pipeline.“

With the modular structure of its monitoring solution, meteocontrol offers the best conditions for the implementation thereof. The scalability of the system allows the hardware and software to be adjusted to meet complex park layouts, constantly growing technical requirements and currently applicable standards. „We can also integrate existing systems in the VCOM with a wide range of software solutions and hardware components,“ explains Martin Schneider, the Managing Director of meteocontrol. „If it“s necessary to retrofit with hardware, as is partially the case with Stern Energy, the costs are relatively low in comparison to complex operation management with different systems and portal environments.“ In addition, bundling all systems onto one monitoring platform creates transparency and comparability, thus enabling the early detection of any hidden errors as well as a prompt response in the event of a disruption.

„We“re looking forward to having a long-term partnership with meteocontrol. The products and solutions are high-quality and represent state-of-the-art technology. The support and services from meteocontrol provide optimal assistance during implementation. In addition to the ongoing retrofit of the current 13 MWp, we are in the final negotiations with our customers regarding the modification of another 15 MWp,“ reports Stefan Torri of Stern Energy.

meteocontrol, EU headquarter based in Augsburg, Germany and APMEA headquarter based in Shanghai (China), with offices and branches in Chicago (U.S.A.), Lyon (France), Madrid (Spain) and Milan (Italy) offers energy and weather data management, yield reports, quality audits and technical due diligence as well as monitoring of PV systems of all sizes. meteocontrol has more than 40 years of expertise in renewable energy systems and has so far been involved in projects with a total investment volume of more than 13 billion Euros.

NOMINATION ITALY: Eine Erfolgsgeschichte

Repercussions of the economic crisis on the luxury brand market

An analysis of the dichotomy of the Italian luxury industry in the light of global crisis

Repercussions of the economic crisis on the luxury brand market

Marketing Strategies for Luxury Goods „Made in Italy“ (Source: Cover art: © fox17 – Fotolia.com)

Munich, 17th of June 2015. In the years since the outbreak of the financial crisis of 2008, the luxury industry has garnered a great deal of interest not only from economists but the public eye, as it seems to be immune to the backlash grappling national economies.

Marketing expert Angela Alunni has now published the scientific essay „The Effects of the Economic Crisis on the Luxury Brand Market“ (http://www.grin.com/de/e-book/299352/), dealing with this topic. Her most recent work gives a brief historical account of the evolution in the general understanding of luxury goods, which in present times includes a multi-faceted view of the phenomenon. The research then puts emphasis on the Italian market, clarifying what role the luxury sector plays in the national economy and at what point the concepts of luxury and Made in Italy coincide.

Marketing Strategies for Luxury Goods „Made in Italy“

In her paper „The Effects of the Economic Crisis on the Luxury Brand Market“ (http://www.grin.com/de/e-book/299352/) the author analyzes business strategies and tools to broaden the appeal of luxury products in the current environment of globalization and democratization of luxury, while not betraying the essence of the luxury concept per se. Access to the money market has provided those companies with the means to consolidate their financial standing, drive their development and has delivered an additional boost in brand recognition. Going public, especially for family-held small Italian businesses, is rewarded with a more effective penetration of emerging markets.
In very general terms, the author investigates the context and significance of Made in Italy and does not stop short of highlighting that the sell-out of Italian brands to foreign investors has drained Italy of close to ten billion euros between 2008 and 2013 alone. Prior to 2008, the big luxury companies had driven the growth of the entire sector. The segment has seen a decline in economic indicators during the height of the crisis, but more importantly a rapid recovery, pulling out with a gain in market share. This, however, did not translate to small companies in private hands, due to the limited financial and managerial resources at their disposal.
The portrayal of the Bvlgari case highlights these strategies and at the same time points to the challenges that the luxury industry Made in Italy has to face as a whole.

The Author

Angela Alunni is a seasoned international marketing and branding expert, delivering successful marketing portfolios for dynamic global businesses, especially a broad range of luxury brands. She has earned qualifications from UC Berkeley Business School in Marketing and Project Management and from Stanford Business School in Social Media Marketing, SEO and Branding. „The Effects of the Economic Crisis on the Luxury Brand Market“ is her first publication.

* Informationstechnik, Oberbegriff für die Informations- und Datenverarbeitung (engl.: „information technology“)
* Information und Telekommunikation (z. B. in den Berufsbezeichnungen „IT-Systemkaufmann“ und „IT-Systemelektroniker“)
* Industrietechnik

wie z.B. co.it.
