Salzburg, Austria, 18 June 2015 – Commend today announced that it has joined the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program and received Factory Certification for the current versions of the interface between its security communication systems and the Lenel OnGuard access control solution.

The Commend security and communication systems interface with the OnGuard® platform and support the following value-adding features for OnGuard system users:

-Incoming Intercom calls are indicated directly within the OnGuard „Alarm Monitoring“ application
-Calls and conversations are displayed as alarm pairing, making them clearly visible while requiring little space in the Alarm Monitoring window
-A smart connection allows for the signal of multiple observation cameras to be displayed each time an Intercom call is triggered
-Permanent monitoring of the logical connection between OnGuard and the Commend servers ensures reliability
-Continuous end-to-end monitoring of the call lines support stable Intercom connections throughout
-Designed for ultimate user convenience, the bi-directional user interface allows for placing calls to Intercom stations with a simple mouse click

„Commend’s communication functionality is a great addition to the OnGuard security platform. End users can control the entire system using only a few simple mouse clicks,“ says Ross McKay, Director, Product Management, Access Control Solutions, Lenel. „We are looking forward to Commend’s continued involvement in the Lenel OpenAccess Alliance Program.“

First 1 GHz control for mobile work machines

First 1 GHz control for mobile work machines

(Mynewsdesk) Hirschmann MCS is offering its customers now a new powerful 1 GHz control for mobile use under toughest conditions. Apart from high performance, cSCALE C8 Control stands out for its modular structure and flexible programming. The unit is especially robust and shock-proof in extreme situations.

Increased process speed, extended functionality and reliable operating safety, even under the most adverse operating conditions – Hirschmann MCS now provides the new powerful cSCALE C8 Control with 2 GB flash data storage. The high-performance control solution for mobile machines, such as construction and building materials machines, agricultural and forestry machines, materials handling machines, municipal and special vehicles grows with its requirements. When it is dusty, slushy or dirty, the user can still rely a hundred percent on cSCALE C8.

Performance and flexibility as a response to customer requests

The housing design of the PLC high-performance control is especially robust in the two protection classes IP20 and IP66/67, and ensures shock and vibration resistance which is required in mobile application. The housing in IP20 version already protects the electronics against mechanical stress caused by impact, shock and vibrations. The highly stable resistant pressure cast housing in IP66/67 design withstands also the direct influence of dirt, moisture and water when used in the roughest surroundings.

Intelligent I/O – tailor-made configurations

As a supplier of flexible components for customer-specific use, Hirschmann MCS has thought of everything in cSCALE C8 Control as well. Up to 300 I/O can be modularly combined in the control. The intelligent I/O has a high-degree diagnosis function. The powerful self-diagnosis and monitoring functions are designed to immediately recognise the fault. Programming can be carried out flexibly with CoDeSys 3.5 or C++. A 2 GB flash storage space is available for programme and data storage.

Strong performance – comprehensive solution for highest demands

The new cSCALE C8 Control is perfectly suited for mobile use, if a high-end CPU performance (1 GHz, HW FPU), a tailor-made I/O configuration or a special I/O (diagnosis, Namur …) is required. Apart from the standard interfaces Ethernet and CANopen, other communication interfaces, such as CANopen Safety, J1939 and USB, are available when required. As a standard feature the integrated USB interface offers the option for easy software updates as well as uploads of data logger data using an USB stick.

CFX’s Allweiler takes third place in environmental competition

CFX

Allmind Smart Technology can save energy, enhance safety and lower maintenance costs

Monroe, NC (July 24, 2013) Colfax Fluid Handling, a business of Colfax Corporation (NYSE: CFX) and a global leader in fluid-handling solutions for critical applications, today announced that that its Allweiler brand, based in Radolfzell, Germany, has been awarded third place in the Baden-Württembergian state competition for environmental technology in the Measurement, Control, and Regulation category. Its entry was an advanced electronic condition monitoring and control solution for pumps known as Allmind.

Allmind is a new „smart“ platform that intelligently monitors and controls pumps in order to achieve a high level of efficiency. Continuous diagnosis of the pump complements Allmind’s capabilities. The results can be dramatically lower maintenance and energy costs, elevated safety, and – when used with a frequency converter – optimized control for bringing the pump to the desired operating point.

„Allmind can significantly reduce total costs (TCO), yet is more affordable than similar systems, so it quickly pays for itself, even when used with smaller pumps and standard pumps,“ according to Manfred Schulz, Director of Distribution Sales EMEA at Allweiler.

Allmind can be configured to trigger specific reactions for individual pumps, such as reducing speed and continuing operation at a safe operating point. Allmind allows operators to plan ahead for maintenance and repairs, thereby avoiding unplanned production downtime and consequential damages. The system stores all sensor values and makes them available for evaluation purposes.

The State Ministry for Environment, Climate and Energy in Baden-Württemberg awarded the prize for Environmental Technology to companies with their headquarters or a subsidiary located in the state. It is granted for outstanding and innovative products in environmental technology. Product entries must make a significant contribution to resource efficiency and environmental protection, and be close to market launch or on the market for no more than two years. The 2013 awards were presented by Franz Untersteller on July 11.
