Frankfurt am Main, 23 May 2018: Degussa Goldhandel GmbH is now cooperating with precious metal retailer GoldSilver Central Pte Ltd in Singapore. The partnership between both providers who are leaders in their respective markets covers the distribution of Degussa bullion bars as well as gift items made out of gold and silver. GoldSilver Central will offer the products of Europe“s biggest precious metal retailer in its own stores as well as via its online shop ( www.goldsilvercentral.com.sg).

The cooperation with the Singaporean precious metal specialist positions the presence of Degussa and its products in the Asian region on a broader basis and will open up new growth potential.

„Due to the cooperation with GoldSilver Central, we are able to give new impetus to our presence in Asia,“ said Raphael Scherer, Chief International Officer (CIO) and member of the Degussa management board. „With this step we also want to strengthen our position in Singapore, one of the most important precious metal trading centres in Asia and offer local customers access to the Degussa gold and silver bars as well as our lifestyle items.“

Since its launch in 2011, Degussa has developed into the European market leader amongst the independent precious metal retailers with branches in ten sites in Germany as well as internationally in Zurich, Geneva and Madrid. Furthermore, in 2013 the company also took over London precious metals company Sharps Pixley.

„We are extremely proud to be part of this collaboration with Degussa and are looking forward to exploring new strategies for providing enhanced precious metals investment solutions in Asia,“ said Brian Lan, Managing Director of GoldSilver Central. „The start of this partnership enables both companies to leverage on each other for more resources to create new business opportunities and most importantly, to benefit Precious Metals Investors on a regional scale.“

GoldSilver Central was also established in 2011, in Singapore, and specialises in the physical trading of gold, silver and platinum for both individuals and businesses. Hereby the company offers a wide range of products and services with the aim of offering private investors the opportunity to invest in precious metals at competitive prices such as the first spot deliverable precious metals platform – GSC Live!. meteocontrol and Reuniwatt form a partnership for satellite estimations and forecasts in Asia

(Source: @ Reuniwatt)

Augsburg / La Reunion, May 17, 2017. French solar forecasting pioneer Reuniwatt and German leading provider of technical consulting and monitoring solutions for PV systems meteocontrol GmbH have decided to intensify their business relationship. The partnership concerns real-time estimations and intraday forecasts for different sites in Asia.

The need for satellite data in China and Japan
Since 2014, meteocontrol has been getting a growing demand from Asian market players who are looking for monitoring and yield assessment solutions. Moreover, the Asian market is currently the largest global expanding market in the solar industry. meteocontrol has asked Reuniwatt to provide them with real-time estimations (also called „nowcasts“) and intraday forecasts for their Asian portfolio. Indeed, Reuniwatt has a known expertise in satellite data treatment, necessary to obtain such services. The French company has access to real-time raw satellite data issuing from five geostationary satellites covering all continents: Himawari-8 for Asia-Pacific, Meteosat-10 for Europe and Africa, Meteosat-8 for the Indian Ocean and the Middle East, GOES-East for North and South America, GOES-West for the Pacific islands.

Satellite data are available in near-real time: every 10 minutes for Himawari-8 and every 15 minutes for the other satellites. Reuniwatt“s operational method for providing nowcasts and intra-day solar forecasts is based on the most performing techniques to convert satellite images into solar irradiance maps.

„We are absolutely convinced that meteocontrol“s solutions are essential for all asset owners and we are very proud to accompany such a market leader on their Asian adventure“ said Reuniwatt CEO and Founder Nicolas Schmutz.

„We are happy to provide our Asian customers with the high quality forecasts from Reuniwatt to ensure grid integration of PV power in this important market“ said Robert Pfatischer, Managing Director of meteocontrol.

Intersolar 2017
Both companies will be exhibiting at Intersolar, the world“s leading show for the solar industry. The fair will take place in Munich from May 31-June 2 2017 for the 25th year.
Meet meteocontrol on booth B2.230 and Reuniwatt on booth B2.280 in the ees section.

meteocontrol, EU headquarter based in Augsburg, Germany and APMEA headquarter based in Shanghai (China), with offices and branches in Chicago (U.S.A.), Lyon (France), Madrid (Spain) and Milan (Italy) offers energy and weather data management, yield reports, quality audits and technical due diligence as well as monitoring of PV systems of all sizes. meteocontrol has more than 40 years of expertise in renewable energy systems and has so far been involved in projects with a total investment volume of more than 13 billion Euros. In addition, meteocontrol is the market leader for professional remote monitoring of PV systems. meteocontrol monitors around 41,000 PV systems around the globe with a total power of over 11 GWp. meteocontrol is a member of SFCE Shunfeng International Clean Energy Limited.

MOST(R) ICA Conference Program Highlights MOST150 Pumping Up the Volume

MOST(R) ICA Conference Program Highlights MOST150 Pumping Up the Volume

MOSTCO Exhibit Will Show Simple and Low-cost HD Multimedia Network for Medium- and Small-sized Cars

14th MOST Interconnectivity Conference Asia on November 14, 2013 in Tokyo, Japan

The MOST(R) Cooperation (MOSTCO) – the standardization organization for the leading automotive multimedia network Media Oriented Systems Transport (MOST) – invites carmakers and suppliers on November 14, 2013 to Tokyo (Japan) for the 14th MOST Interconnectivity Conference Asia (ICA). „We are very pleased to celebrate, together with the Asian automotive industry, the ongoing success of MOST150 being rolled out,“ stated Rainer Klos, MOST Cooperation Administrator. „This reflects the path of success, with fast-growing acceptance of this de-facto automotive network standard by key carmakers worldwide. The number of vehicle models relying on the MOST infotainment backbone already totals over 145 vehicle models on the road today.“ Program highlights will introduce the implementation of MOST150 in the brand new Mercedes-Benz S-class vehicles. Further presentations will inform on solutions and scenarios for the future MOST physical layer, compliance and quality aspects, and network and system architecture such as advanced driver assistance systems (ADAS) and IP architecture.

Simple and Low-cost HD Multimedia Network for Medium- and Small-sized Cars

In the exhibition area during ICA 2013, the MOST Cooperation and various members will show the latest MOST solutions and applications. Besides celebrating the ongoing rollout of MOST150, MOSTCO will present a slim and low-cost HD multimedia network solution that especially targets the high-volume medium- and small-sized vehicle market. Thus, the MOST network technology meets the requirements for mass-produced models of the mid-range and small cars sectors. The demo system will show a MOST50 infotainment system that includes a head unit, two interactive displays, an amplifier, and a camera. The electrical physical layer is based on a simple and low-cost unshielded twisted pair (UTP) of copper wires. The implemented remote control feature further simplifies the system and reduces cost, since the whole system needs only one single microcontroller which is located in the head unit. This remote control feature allows the reduction of the number of microcontrollers and amount of memory in small and mid-size systems by obsoleting them in peripheral nodes such as displays, cameras, amplifiers and the like. Instead of having a microcontroller in each node, the other nodes can be controlled remotely by a central microcontroller – for example, the one in the head unit.

„Leaving out the other microcontrollers and memory can drive system cost down significantly,“ stated Rainer Klos, MOSTCO Administrator. „Performing all control centrally in the head unit also simplifies the development process considerably, as only one piece of software needs to be developed. Amplifiers and displays run without a local microcontroller and without local software.“ Besides significantly lowering costs on the side of the remote devices, this type of architecture helps to optimize system partitioning, board space, and even power dissipation in the remote device. Typical examples for peripheral devices are cameras and rear seat entertainment devices, including auxiliary I/Os, displays, etc.

On vacation or at home, communication and language is a significant part of our daily life. Only by language it´s possible to communicate with people around us, either when we ask where the next bus station is or when we want to start a serious conversation with someone.

We dominate our mother tongue perfectly, sometimes even one additional foreign language. But what happens if we want to communicate with people, whose language we neither understand nor speak? Imagine the following situation : You´re on vacation in Andalusia and want to ask a local where to find the next supermarket. First, you try it in English. No reaction. What now ?
This can also happen at home, for example at work with a business partner from China or with a patient, who only speaks English moderately.

It can often be useful to have an opportunity to talk to people without knowing their native language. And what else helps us more effectively nowadays than an app on our smartphone?

This is where our iSayHello Communicator- Translator comes into play!
The App has two parts: For one we have the mobile, offline working travel dictionary, that contains 11 lessons with the most important words and phrases. You can choose of 12 different languages and native speakers will recite the whatever you want to know – that´s how you will never be misunderstood again!
This feature is especially useful when you´re on vacation and asking the waiter for the bill, for example.

The second part of the app is the communicator, which comprises two little cute language monsters, that will translate simultaneously words and sentences – in over 50 languages! By manual input or speech recognition you can translate a sentence like „Sorry, where can I find a good restaurant“ within seconds in Chinese.

The communicator is a great way to get into contact with anybody, no matter where he comes from or which language he speaks.
The App iSayHello Communicator – Translator is truly a practical and fun assistant and companion, on vacation or in your free time!

„Steve McCurry – In the Flow of Time. Photographs from Asia 1980 – 2011“ from January 19, 2013 in the Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg

The Kunstmuseum Wolfsburg presents the explosively colorful oeuvre of the American photographer Steve McCurry for the first time in a museum setting in Germany – in the series of pioneering photographers in which works by Man Ray, George Brassaï, Edward Steichen and Henri Cartier-Bresson have already been shown.

Steve McCurry attained worldwide fame when he managed to cross the border from Pakistan into Afghanistan at the time of the 1979 Soviet invasion. He took the first photographs from this war-torn region, which were published in the New York Times, Time Magazine and Geo. The now iconic image of an Afghan girl was taken in a refugee camp and appeared on the cover of National Geographic in 1985. McCurry has been a member of Magnum Photos since 1986, the famed agency founded among others by Henri Cartier-Bresson and Robert Capa.

McCurry“s close ties to Asia have been unbroken since his first trips to India and Afghanistan.
