GET THE LOOK:

1. To create the perfect foundation for styling, prep wet hair by applying 1-2 pumps of Moroccanoil Treatment from mid-lengths to ends (Moroccanoil Treatment Light for fine hair).
2. Liberally spritz with Moroccanoil Perfect Defense to protect the hair ahead of heat styling, blow-dry with the Ceramic 25 mm Round Brush.

GET THE LOOK:

1. To prep long hair for this look, and to defend against the wet weather, wash hair using Moroccanoil Extra Volume Shampoo & Conditioner. Towel dry, and apply 1-2 pumps of Moroccanoil Treatment (Moroccanoil Treatment Light for fine hair) to provide the perfect foundation for styling.
2. Distribute a golf-ball sized amount of Moroccanoil Volumizing Mousse to the midsection and ends; providing texture and hold for the waves without weighing hair down.

BOTTA design stands for „modern functionalism“ in product design. In the wristwatch sector, the brand from Königstein im Taunus is best known as the pioneer of the one-hand watch and its flagship model, the UNO.

The circular watch with the instrumental look is a prime example of functionally-oriented product design. It is also the starting point for the new watch category „single-hand watches“. However, the design team around Klaus Botta does not only develop watches with a single hand. In fact BOTTA design also offers wristwatches with several hands.

Today the German brand presents the third generation of its three-hand classic: the TRES.

The TRES series fits well in the BOTTA design model range
While single-handed watches encourage a more generous use of time, the traditional TRES display principle is immediately known and familiar. The precise scale of the three-hand watch enables it to be read to the second. The TRES thus appeals to a somewhat broader audience than the single-hand watches of the BOTTA design brand.

The design reflects the brand“s identity very well. Here, too, you can see the sobriety and clarity that typically characterize BOTTA models. The designers from the Taunus region kept the trend of doing without superfluous ornaments or conventional status symbols in the third generation of the TRES series.

Cleverly designed functionality
At first glance, you can only see the three hands and a very fine scale for the hours and minutes or seconds. Only a closer look reveals the number of hours in the area between the minute and the edge of the case. The contrast is relatively low, as the numbers are printed in the colour of the dial. They have a certain three-dimensionality and a gloss effect which renders them recognizable.

The readability of the watch is nonetheless not compromised because the reading is guided by the clear grid of the hour markings and is not distracted by other displays or ornaments. The clearly weighted hands also make a positive contribution here.

The new TRES thus meets the standards set by BOTTA design for clear, logical design.

Klaus Botta attaches great importance to technical high quality and longevity of the design
The new TRES model also meets both these criteria. The materials and components used, such as double-curved sapphire glass with an anti-reflective coating on both sides.
The design is timeless, just like the predecessors of this series have already proven it with models designed in 1995 and 2006 respectively, which still look contemporary today.

Three case variants in three colours each
BOTTA design offers the new TRES with an ETA-2824-2 automatic movement.
The stainless steel case has a diameter of 44 mm and is available with three dial colours: Pearl White, Pearl Black and All Black. The case of the All Black version has an additional black PVD coating. Its dial scale is also consistently black.
A further sapphire crystal on the high-quality designed back provides a direct view of the Swiss mechanical movement. The version with saddle leather strap and silver case costs €890.

For fans of high-quality quartz watches, there are two case variants: the large 44 mm stainless steel case and the significantly flatter and lighter titanium case with a diameter of 40 mm.
With its compact geometry, the titanium version is also suitable for very narrow wrists.
Both quartz versions are available in the same colours as the automatic watch: Pearl Black, Pearl White and All Black. Prices start at 448 €.

All new TRES models are now available on presale at selected retailers or at botta-design.de.
The delivery begins on 12.12.2018.

Presenting the 24 hours of the day with a single rotation of the watch hand was the basic idea behind the UNO 24.
Klaus Botta, known as the pioneer of one-hand watches, developed the first UNO 24 model exactly ten years ago. The dial on his full-day watch showed 24 hours rather than the usual twelve.

The single watch hand, the hour hand, therefore moves only half as quickly around the dial as the hour hand on a conventional twelve-hour watch does.
The day on this watch is presented in analogue graphic form, with each time of the day corresponding to a specific position on the specially designed dial.

The division of the dial into a day half (top) and a night half (bottom) increases clarity and reflects the position of the sun in the sky.
This principle has been used in all UNO 24 models since 2008.
Exactly ten years after the first model was launched, BOTTA design is now offering a new version of its design classic, the UNO 24 titan.

It goes without saying that the 24-hour one-hand principle is also retained in the new model. However, the dial is now somewhat less cluttered, which increases clarity for the wearer. The fact that the ten-minute scale has been moved right to the outside makes it considerably easier to tell the time on this watch.

The differences in the watch case are even more striking. While the case of the previous UNO 24 was made of stainless steel, the new version has a specially-designed titanium case. Weighing a mere 32 grams, it is now roughly 20 % lighter than its predecessor.

Focusing on form and function
Good design is not limited only to the visual appearance of the watch. At BOTTA design, function is very much the focus. Which is why considerable attention was paid when reinterpreting the UNO 24 to the functional design of the underside of the case.

The lugs are partly concealed beneath the case. As a result, the UNO 24 is also suitable for wearers with slim wrists, despite its diameter of 40mm. The sloped sides of the underside of the case allow the wearer maximum freedom of movement in the wrist, while at the same time enabling air to circulate freely.
Thanks to the clever design of the underside, the watch – which is already very slim at just 7.5 mm – appears even slimmer.

Botta-Design stands for „modern functionalism“ in product design. In the wristwatch segment, the Königstein-based brand is known first and foremost for its UNO one-hand watch. This circular watch with the appearance of a precision instrument is a prime example of functionally-oriented product design. It is also considered to have heralded in the new category of „one-hand watches“. Klaus Botta and his development team do not design only watches with a single hour hand, however. Botta-Design also has wristwatches with more than one hand in its range. What all of the different models have in common is the clear logic of their display and their consistently high design standards.

In late 2017, Botta-Design presented its first three-hand 24-hour watch, the TRES 24 Plus in a 45 mm stainless steel case.
This is now followed by the slimmer and more lightweight version of this watch concept, featuring a titanium case with a 40 mm diameter.

While the „midnight mark“ in conventional 24-hour watches is generally to be found at the top, with midday at the bottom, exactly the reverse is the case in Botta-Design“s 24-hour watches. According to Klaus Botta, the justification for this somewhat unusual arrangement is that the dial is laid out to be „synchronous with the sun“. The hour scale precisely reflects the position of the sun in the sky at the time in question. At 12 pm, for example, when the sun is at its zenith, the hour hand also points to the number 12 at the top. At 6 in the morning and at 6 in the evening, when the sun is on the horizon, the hand of the TRES 24 models can also be found at the dial“s „artificial horizon“. Finally, at midnight, when the sun is „under the Earth“, the hour hand also points to the number 0 at the bottom of the dial. At the same time, the hand passes the date line that runs from the centre of the dial to the date window, and the displayed date switches to the next day.

Besides the 24-hour scale on the middle ring of the dial, there is also a second outer scale that shows the minutes and seconds. The two scales are not only distinguishable by their different colours, but are also physically separate. The differences in height between the circular scales correspond to the heights of the respective hands.
Just like the bigger version, the TRES 24 Plus, the TRES 24 Titan is reminiscent of an aircraft instrument with an artificial horizon – the day half at the top, the night half at the bottom. The numbers and markings are designed to make them as easy to read and distinguish between as possible. As with any 24-hour watch, it takes a short period of time to get used to this way of telling the time. Especially at the beginning, the clearly readable hour numbers make it easier to understand the system and tell the time.

The TRES 24 Titan is designed not so much with the average user in mind. It will appeal above all to design afficionados with a penchant for quality. Every aspect of the watch case is carefully designed down to the tiniest detail and features strikingly high-quality craftsmanship. The dial is arranged in a strictly logical and clear manner. The lugs are shaped and positioned in such a way that they exceed the watch diameter only slightly, making the watch very comfortable to wear.

The use of titanium for the case means that an amazingly low overall weight of just 39 g is achieved. Like all watches from this Königstein-based brand, the new TRES 24 Titan is also designed, developed and manufactured in Germany.

A Swiss-made Ronda quartz movement ensures a comfortable and reliable drive system. The dual-domed sapphire glass is antireflective on both sides. The watch is splash-proof to 3 ATM and comes with a two-year manufacturer“s warranty. Just like its sister model, the TRES 24 Titan comes in three different colour versions: with a light dial, a dark dial or a dark dial in a completely black PVD-coated case. The normal price of the watch starts at 448 EUR. The watch will be ready for shipping from the end of July 2018 but can already be ordered at an advance purchase price starting at 398 EUR.

Instead of charts, numbers and warnings, the books uses positivity, fun and speaks in a language kids understand.

There are chapters on meal planning, superfoods, exercise, budgeting, label-reading and the environment. It helps understand the basics of nutrition while providing information on how to make the most of each food source. The book was written together with a clinical dietitian making sure it is not just fun but also verified and factual.

Simple Happy Kitchen introduces a new way to discuss and learn about plant-based nutrition – with positivity, humor and fun.
