A new handpiece for Electrosurgery

The APCapplicator – with 5 integrated functions

A new handpiece for Electrosurgery

APCapplicator

This new, single-use handpiece – the APCapplicator by Erbe Elektromedizin – offers unsurpassed versatility. In addition to its function as an APC device, it offers additional, integrated electrosurgical options. The applicator can be employed for cutting and coagulation using a needle or spatula electrode which is freely adjustable in length. Both CUT and COAG modes can be employed with or without argon support. At the touch of a button, gynecologists performing mamma surgery can simply alternate between two functions – APC-supported incision of the mamma using a spatula electrode and non-contact APC for surface coagulation of the resection bed and mammary gland tissue. This non-contact technique prevents the applicator from adhering to tissue and tearing it open.
When argon-supported cutting and coagulation is performed, the argon plasma reduces tissue carbonization as well as smoke plume development, maintaining a good view of the surgical field in this way. Functions can be alternated directly via the handpiece and various settings on the surgical workstation can be selected via the remode button.

The APCapplicator – an electrosurgical multi-talent which is up to almost any task in the operating room – provides many applications for gynecology as well as for many other specialist disciplines. There is a wide range of models to choose from, all with integrated filter and instrument detection. Simply plug and operate.
